Was the offensive line

considering the blitzing defense of LSU, the o-line did a very good job iMO...

the majority of the time Quinn had plenty of time...just he didn't get it done and neither did the recievers...

I would say they were at their best when they had a 7-man front. When it was just basic or one-TE set, all hell broke loose it seemed.

I think the first half goes to the Defensive Line. It seemed the game got out of hand when the D Line stopped getting anywhere near what appeared to be the pocket. Second half goes to the Offensive Line, who did just enough to allow Quinn to dole out 3-and-outs. Yes. Sarcasm.

Before you trip over yourself to pat the O-line on the back(with a vieled insult at BQ hidden in there somewhere) realize that most of the time we had a 7 man front which severely hindered the passing offenses ability to operate. Quinns favorite target, Carlson, was stuck babysitting the O-line.

But they did their job and we cannot fault them for that. Several times I saw line-man making key blocks that let Walker walk all over their defense.

Dude, they needed both TEs to save their butts.

That's just sad.

I agree that the OL did a great job against and outstanding LSU DL. Sam Young has come along great. I cant count how many times I seen him take his man to the ground. I was disappointed that Quinn didn't have a better game. He had his chances, and I know he misses Stovall on the other side. Mcnight was a bit of a dissapointement, especially in the big games.

both TEs and most of the time DW had to stay in and help block.

Its no wonder our WRs were double covered most of the time

Yeah, I was reall impressed at how it only took 7 of our guys to stop 4 of theirs.

That's a really impressive OL.

He ended up with 1267yds rushing and a 5.0 average. Not bad for all the grief he gets from many ND fans.

Beating up on crappy teams does not count...

Having good games against good opponents matters most.

DW's running last night changed the course of the first half. After that LSU adjusted.

But you know what? If he was really dynamic he could have run well against the other tougher teams this year, but he did not.

These games come to mind...
Penn State
scUM
MSU
UCLA
UNC
USC

He seriously padded his stats with:
Air Force, Army, Purdue and Stanford. Those 4 games accounted for half his season yards.

We all know the OL wasn't much help most of the season either.

I think LSU scoring all over or defense at the end of the first half and in the third quarter cause CW to pass and almost abandon the run. That had alot more to do with Walkers second half numbers.

Or more to the point, his attempts...he barely got any...but when you look they were not successful. That was due to adjustments by LSU, not a change in Darius.
