Yeah, after further evaluation, I'm gonna go ahead and take the coaching staff's eval on this over the recruiting sites.

I'll be frank, 247 has been REALLY off their mark lately. Somebody on another site mentioned the departure of Barton Simmons to join Lea's staff at Vandy. I think his absence is becoming very apparent now.

It's especially showing in the DL/LB evals. You watch Justin Scott and TJ Lindsey, I see two players who should be at least close to similarly rated. Yet, Scott is rated a full 10 points higher, a composite 5-star, while Lindsey is a composite 3-star.

I say that knowing we're probably going to miss out on Lindsey and have a good shot at Scott. I like Scott, but I don't see a 5-star. He's a good prospect, very good. But so is Lindsey, and he's absolutely not a 3-star.

Same with Mullins. Jamie from ISD has the best eval on this guy and rates him a 90. Low 4-star. That's about where I have him. Not a mid 3-star, like the other sites have. I really don't get how you miss on a dude who is playing in such a major hotbed, but it's really showing how far 247 has fallen off.

When speaking of player evals with Cole Mullins being a 3 star(currently), how do you guys compare him to Josh Burnham(a composite top 100 guy)? I ask cause both he and Burnham have similar measurements at 6'4 240ish and play LB but both are projected at Vyper.

I was listening to an IB podcast and they love Mullins.

They said he is their Benjamin Morrison if this class.

With Morrison, I can can vouch for this because I remembered them saying this 2 years ago… Driskell kept carrying on about how Morrison was a top 50 in the country player & the rankings (he finished outside the top 300) were horrible for him.
Then during the spring when Mickey was showing out & Morrison wasn’t there until June, Driskell doubled-down & said Morrison was better & would pass Mickey immediately once he got to campus.
Said he watched Morrison’s film over & over, not just highlights, & them broke down why he thought Morrison was top 50 (talking his skill set translating to college).

I bring that up because Driskell said he went back & watched Mullins’ film “4 or 5 more times” and not just highlights, & feels even stronger about his skills & him having an impact at ND. Said he cannot understand his rating, he is a top 100 guy.
Then doubled-down again he is this class’ Benjamin Morrison.

If so, that’s a pretty good steal.

ISD has repeated it multiple times and has them currently rated as a 4-star and could potentially bump him even higher with good senior film.
