Loy says both sides are frustrated but talking through things. Styles I'm sure is frustrated with his lack of targets and involvement, but he sure gives full effort blocking for others and continued that last night. Hopefully something gets worked out and he sticks it out.
I mean it wasn’t lack of targets he kinda hurt himself he dropped literally 5-7 balls that were wide open this year

I'm frustrated watching him play, if he feels the grass is greener elsewhere go ahead.. but he has feet for hands and honestly has been such a disappointment.. I mean lower rated players have just out performed him and feels like every time ND tries to get him going he immediately makes them question why do we keep trying... no loss if so besides less drops

His profiles are still full of ND pics fwiw including two story posts with ND stuff from after the game. Not a case of scrubbing ND from his profile at least

He had more than just that one photo before

He's got talent, obviously want him in the WR room, if he leaves he leaves. Get someone else from the portal

With him last year I thought for sure he woulda put up 800 yards this year but he ain’t gonna get more playing time playing WR at Ohio State they are bringing in a loaded WR class

you can't teach his acceleration, so having him on the roster is a net positive but he needs to bought in. I predicted big things for him in 2022 and was largely disappointed. I've never seen a touted WR lay such an egg. I want him at WR or CB or S but I hope he gives ND another year. Freeman is just getting started and he's learned a shit ton in his first full year.

He’s got ideal size for the safety position. He’s got the speed to play at the back line. He’s an average WR with poor hands and suspect route running. If he wants a career in the NFL, he should seriously consider moving to safety.

If he went to OSU, this is where he’d be.. on defense.

I think his struggles are mental.
No way you go from that frosh year to this.
Major reversal.

Not the mentality that would thrive on D...that's for sure.

WRs that can't catch are meant to be DBs..so if he moves to that side of the ball great, if not...see ya on the flip side.

He flashed good to great WR skill in 2021. This year seemed to be mental on his part. Way too many easy drops. He looked good as a returner in the few chances he got. Hate to lose him but wouldn’t be surprised at all.

If he leaves that means more reps for Colzie, Merriweather, and Thomas; nothing wrong with that.

I would like him to stay, but kids always have the easy route to take.

Thomas and Kaleb Smith the Elder you figure are above Styles. Then Colzie/Lenzy/Styles basically split by year end. So you get Mayer and Lenzy gone but Smith in with pressure from real depth for once with Merriweather and the freshman. I get why he’s at least considering given he has real danger of falling out. And while Hartman is an improvement, Hartman has experience with Colzie, Merriweather type WRs mainly.

Will repeat and love him to try spring at nickel or safety in south bend.

If Styles does go, the staff should definitely do everything in their power to try and get Lenzy to return. For depth purposes, but mainly because Lenzy could show out a lot more with a QB that can throw the ball downfield.

It's more beneficial to bring back someone who knows the offense, can be a leader and bring back more continuity, than dip into the portal.

Whatever... good talent but way too much offseason drama for a guy who gets you 340 yards and 1 TD a year. They can find other WRs to block downfield. The young talent on offense on the team and coming, is more then going to make up for him leaving.

I guess it depends on what you mean by drama. I think so far he has been nothing but professional in everything he has done to this point. He definitely disappointed this year. But I think that sophomore slumps happen all the time. Receivers pop junior/senior year all the time. You dont give up on it.

I have loved Zo’s effort here, and he seems to be a great teammate. He was sprinting to block for Diggs on that 75 yard TD even when he probably didnt need to. I would take that energy everyday on this team. I would have Zo on the team until he became cancerous to it, which it doesnt appear to be the case at all (yet).

I hope the coaches do everything they can to convince him to stick with the process here. I love the kid.

Well I did specifically call out off-season drama, which him wanting to leave the last two off seasons qualifies in my book.
But sure he gives good effort during the actual games. I'm just saying having to keep begging a guy to stay who's only giving you 340 yards and 1 TD, that production should be easy to replace with the incoming talent and the young talent already in the team.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him transfer out. Disappointed, yes, but not surprised. Having Pyne at QB most of the season didn't help, but he sure as shit didn't help his own cause with all those drops. Wish him well whatever he decides to do.

I gotcha. I think it’s ok for a player to be wavering as long as it doesn’t bleed over to the locker room or their play. I would fight for every player that played as hard as Zo does who I can see the potential. It’s a coaches job to do that. I don’t know if I would classify it as drama if wavering is done professionally.

I'd like to see him stay but honestly it's not much of a loss. Sounds crazy to say that after seeing the potential he had last year. Don't know where it all went wrong but something wasn't clicking. Is he even good enough to play DB at OSU?

I'm in the opinion it would be a huge loss... The receiving corp was 'robbed' by Mayer this year (because he is a bad-ass).

Lenzy is gone by his own choice by all indication. Done with football. Already accepted a job in the real world.

So did Vinson with McKinsey but he’s coming back

His stats say otherwise. Plus you have to figure Colzie and Merriweather will get a lot more targets next year along with some of the freshman coming in. Tyree possibly too if he moves to slot. Raridon, Staes, Evans and Bauman (if he's healthy) will get more targets as well. His experience is valuable but there's very little production.

I think they lose almost nothing if Tyree slides over to WR. I think LS is a real talent, but should seriously consider DB if he wants to play in the NFL.

If ND lands Hartman, this not only benefits Styles, but all of our WR's, and I would keep him at WR. As many posters have said Styles sophomore slump was mental play. He seems like a good kid, I hope he stays.

He seemed like a totally different player from his first catch and long (slow) run on the first play against OSU. I was watching that run wondering who it was. His running style was stiff and slow.
