2022 Watch Party: BOWL SEASON

This has been an entertaining Holiday Bowl game! Maye played well in a losing effort. That UNC team is going to be dangerous next year (I'm not upset that they aren't on the Irish 2023 schedule).

A CINCINNATI DREAM COME TRUE:

FC Cincinnati and TQL Stadium are in the process of creating a bowl game that they can host.

It could very well end up being "The Cincinnati Chili Bowl" if one of the local companies ponies up enough sponsorship money... no joke.

The stadium seats 26,000, and they're in talks with several conferences about participating... so likely none of the P5 teams, but still exciting to have a bowl game in town*.





(*This is where I brag and give it the old "I knew two years ago," while the stadium was still being built. I know some folks in the FC Cincy front office, and one of them was almost more excited about hosting football games in the stadium than he was for the MLS action.)

The Big 12 is such trash. Hard to call them power 5. TCU has no business in th playoff field. I hate Michigan. Luckiest draw in the history of the playoffs.

Next year is FSU’s best chance at being “back” for sure. Their over reliance on the portal is going to come back to bite them since their recruiting hasn’t been as good at the base. Will lead to some fluky good and fluky bad years

These bowl games are a dime a dozen, right? You have top players not playing, transferring, whatever.

Tennessee fans crying about losing Hooker & their WR like Clemson lost zero key contributors is rich. Most teams have significant losses via injury/transfer portal/NFL Draft so the selective “woe is me” from fans needs to go away.

Darn right I am bitter, lol. I live in the heart of Michigan country and they played absolutely no one all year, outside OSU, and who knows how good they are because they are in the same boat. Yes, they beat us..not by much when we were playing really poorly. I have been waiting all year for Michigan to play someone decent and they get TCU?? They big 12 is awful. TCU beat Baylor by 1, and Air Force beat them by 15. Kansas gave TCU all they wanted...as did most of the crappy Big 12. Kansas State beat them! Alabama or Tennessee or someone like that should have been in the playoffs over TCU, not to mention an overrated Ohio St. I guarantee Alabama with a month to prepare would roll Michigan.

the majority of the SEC (and it’s Lemming-like fanbase) rides Bama’s coattails so Saban should lead by example and insist on playing FBS teams in mid-November (think Navy or Army or Eastern Michigan). He says he wants to quit scheduling undermanned teams but if the conference isn’t going to do anything about it, maybe King Saban should.

I think there are four or five teams that would beat UM, but I don't think it will be TCU sadly.

So who is good? ACC and SEC? Be a pretty hot take to call the ACC good this year. It’s pretty openly accepted it was a weak SEC outside of Georgia this year, particularly in the West.

TCU gave up 34 points to SMU, 31 to Kansas, 40 to OK St (a team that only had 7 going into the 4th against 6-6 Wisconsin), 28 to Kansas State, 31 to West Virginia, 28 to Baylor, 31 to Kansas State again....that defense is really, really bad. Have you seen Alabama's offense? They might score 70 on TCU, lol. Not exaggerating.

Wow. Usually I am a fan of your posts, but I strongly, strongly disagree with you on this one. No, Alabama wasn't as good as they normally are, but waaaaaaay better than an AWFUL big 12. I would take the AAC over the Big 12 this year.

Alabama's offense was way better than all of the teams I just listed that dialed TCU's D...they do happen to have the QB that may be the #1 pick this year.

They were #12 in the nation in scoring O at 40.8 PPG. They averaged a little over 475 YPG. Both higher than anyone TCU played. TCU's D was #73 in the country, giving up 385 YPG and 25 PPG. Once again, playing a crappy Big 12 schedule.
