I think it has less to do with the recruit, and more to do that something will actually happen at QB for the 2023 class. Minchey is not a major prospect, but he is talented enough and ranked highly enough to be considered a good QB prospect that could be potentially develop into something.

Seeing how the 2023 QB recruiting has been a constant "shoot and miss" since Moore backed off, landing Minchey would be major. I mean, we were looking at baseball prospects potentially, or Brandyn Hillman. Getting a four-star after how the last four or five months have gone would be major.

i remember thinking he looked like Baker in his highlights when we first offered. Need to re-watch if we actually land him.

Glad the staff is looking to flip . Minchey would be a great get, but I agree we need transfer also.

I would be happy with:

1. Minchey
2. Angeli
3. Buchner
4. Pyne
5. Grad Transfer

If either #3 or #4 leave, then perhaps 2 Grad Transfers - although that is not likely.

So it would be:

1. Minchey
2. Angeli
3. TB / DP (whomever stays)
4. Grad Transfer

Without Grad Transfer, I don't see us chasing Football Playoffs next year. Too many unknowns.

BUT

Minchey could preserve this WR Corp in this class - including Greathouse...... That is worth it just to begin with. But we need the seasoned Grad Transfer, regardless....

Next year's starting QB isn't on the current roster. 100% chance they bring in a grad transfer, and a quality one at that.

Yup. If things go according to plan, Minchey starts next season off as the 5th QB on the depth chart. Maybe 4th.

Alright boys I'm enough of a knucklehead to pay the $9.99 for a month subscription to the Pitt Rivals board purely for the schadenfreude. The Chargers covered last night so whatever.

If Buchner or Pyne leave could go after an undergrad transfer QB too.
