I just don't see a benefit for either side. He won't start ahead of Rashford on the left or Sancho on the right. I doubt he starts ahead of Bruno in the middle (he probably should). He would definitely be rotational.

Hindsight is 20/20, but Pulisic would have been better off for his career staying in Germany IMHO. At this point, could he go back though?

Also, I think Leeds and Newcastle would be FAR superior clubs for him currently in the EPL.

Pulisic leaving Chelsea for lack of consistent playing time just to go to Manchester United makes zero sense. I wouldn't put much stock in the rumor.

Clearly Tuchel doesn't feel he is a starter right now. I don't think it's lack of talent but rather his propensity for injury. Tuchel just doesnt trust he will stay healthy. Christian would be in jeopardy of being labeled a super sub at any of the bigger clubs. I still believe he is a massive talent that would be world class in the right system. But the question is would any of the big clubs gamble on his health to bring him in as a reliable starting wing? If the answer is no, then he has to chose to go to a smaller club for starter minutes or make Chelse play him more by his play on the field. I'm starting to come around to believing Pulisic needs to stay at Chelsea, stay healthy for this season, and play his way into the starting 11.

Probably not, and for a variety of reasons. My guess is he's making better wages now than in Germany, and from a development standpoint, he's past the Bundesliga. Where will he get time there that will matter?

The move to Chelsea was bad at the time. They go through managers like crazy and their fanbase are merciless Nazis, and those are just the nice ones who live in London. Comes as no surprise that he's fallen out of favor and possibly form.

I'd rather he not be in the MLS. I'd like to see him in a staring XI somewhere with a major league in Europe. Even if he produced like Deuce Dempsey did at Fulham, that would be completely fine with me.

n 2021-22, Pulisic started just 13 Premier League matches while making 22 appearances. His 1,286 minutes ranked just 17th on Chelsea despite tying for fourth on the team with six goals.

The winger averaged 0.56 goals and assists per 90 minutes, which ranked third on the team with at least 10 appearances.

This production came despite moving around the lineup to get on the pitch, including some appearances as a wingback in manager Thomas Tuchel's 3-4-2-1 system. Transfermarkt listed six different positions for Pulisic over his 38 appearances in all competitions last season.

Newcastle as a right winger would be great for Pulisic provided he stays fit. Wilson in the center with Saint Maxim on the left. That's a potent front three and he'd be playing in a good system.

Chelsea has a new owner, a manager who seemed incredibly rattled this past week and they've spent a ton of money this summer. It's going to go bad for them as it always does. He needs to get out.

Getting out doesn't mean going from the frying pan to the fire and landing at Old Trafford, though.

Or he could say go to wolves and confuse the hell out of management and be used about as well as Traore while we obsess with how someday Hechan will be good

Sounds like Casemiro might actually be entertaining coming to United. He is normally quick to dismiss rumors. If he can replicate his partnership with Fred for Brazil, this would be a pretty decent signing.

It's going to be complete chaos before the transfer window ends. They're going to spray and pray bids all over the place.

This does wonders for the market.

I'm sorry, but this is obnoxious.

This is why I cannot stand the EPL. This man has barely played a full season of top flight football, and would be the biggest signing of the summer in Serie A for that money. It's asinine.

Casemiro actually makes sense. Unlike Pulisic. We've needed a CDM for years and Real has Tchouameni and Camavinga. Casemiro is 30 and those guys are early 20s.
The fee they could pay and the idea they'd double his wages (he's at $184k a week at Real) seems like a bad idea.

I don't know that I'd ever want to be in a place where signing a 30 year old midfielder makes sense, but that's where they are. There really is no strategy when it comes to transfers or anything else.

I've not heard much about the wages yet. However, it's more of a stop gap solution. You get three years (option for a fourth), you significantly upgrade your midfield and it gives you some time to find a replacement. There aren't any CDMs that would upgrade on the market and it doesn't look like much is coming next summer.

If he leaves the European champions for double his wages with one of Europe's biggest dumpster fires, I don't think anyone doubts where his motivation lies.

Seems like the glazers will be out by next summer so hopefully ETH can handle it for that long then get some real executives in the club.

As a USMNT fan I'm coming around to the idea of Pulisic and Dest at United. I mean, it can't get worse than it already is there right?

True, but this is the only way for United to strengthen their squad this much. No CL means he'll expect higher wages. We'll get Ronaldo off the books, which will help immensely.

I don't think we need Pulisic. Dest is interesting because Dalot and Wan Bissaka are on the chopping block.

The way is having an actual plan.

Higher as in double? They're in full panic mode at this point.

10 million per year puts him between Rashford and Maguire. He is worth Maguire money. However, I don't like the five year deal being thrown out there. I was hoping for 3 with an optional 4th.

You are right though, full blown panic mode. At least it's not panic buying another winger. Hopefully it's panic enough to sell the team!

FYI, Ill be coaching my 5yr olds soccer team this year (apparently your wife can volunteer you w/o asking first).

Point being, I will soon be engaging you all in this thread, and I will probably know more then all of you by week 3.

Or, ill be here screaming and crying asking for help. Likely the latter

Five year old rec soccer is basically rugby. If your child isn't in the scrum, soccer is not for him or her.

My two oldest were not in the scrum. One is now a golfer and the other a gymnast. My youngest owned the scrum, turns 7 tomorrow and is playing club soccer on the 8 and 9 year old team.

My best advice is delegate snacks for after the game to all of the parents. Every family takes a turn.

I've been coaching my son's club team for a couple years. He's 9 now. At this rate I'd expect to be Ted Lasso in a couple more years. EPL here we come!
