I don’t understand why you continually point this out when I’ve had a rebuttal to your statements. Yes I don’t know for a fact what they’ll do with potential funds. Neither do you. Glad we got that disclaimer out of the way yet again lol.

I don’t think they’ll be putting it in American Funds Large Cap. Apparently you do.
We need i.e. Bengal bouts

Yep and is there any reason I’m not allowed to feel that way? What is my obligation for my emotions to be mature in the circumstance?
Idk if I'd say they need to be mature but you could at least point them in the right direction. Anyone blaming Keon or his family is crazy. None of us would be turning down a 7 figure payday in their position.

In their eyes there is. Actually not even in their eyes. Its in the rules. It's not permitted for the university to guarantee up front sums of money
So let's discuss how that can be worked out in advance, with having him meet with a fund agent. The first minute he walks on campus and with discussions of what his NIL deal will equate to the first moment he can accept NIL. I'm guessing other places are having those up front discussions and have it all squared away, how hard is that to work around and stay within the parameters of the very loose rules and laws. Keon the moment you walk on campus here is your money with transfer clause voiding a pre determined allocation of payments. I don't know? These rules can't be difficult to work around. How are other teams working around it. Wouldn't think that they would have better business minds at those schools. When was the last time ND has 2 top 10 players in a class. Gotta be the Holtz years. Hard to see them slip away bc ND can't find a way to get more creative and find a way to play and succeed in the letter of the law.

I choose to be irrational, you feel some type of superiority for being rational, I guess all I can say is good for you 👍🏻 lol

ND will never win without a coach that can either push the admin or go around them. Heck, if it was up to the admin, Notre Dame Stadium never would have been built in the first place.
I don't see it happening. Maybe if Jenkins retires/steps down things change, but by some standards he's been lenient compared to some past Presidents. We could wind up with a stricter admin too.

Will be interesting to see what the impact of this is on the staff if any. Has to be extremely frustrating. ND offered almost a full year before Bama did and outscouted everyone on this kid. Also aren't 2 of his best friends coming to ND? Sounds like a good personality and academic profile fit.

If you can get money whipped in that situation... confidence has to take a hit.

Man Dale I'm glad you know his family and know what he is going to do with the money. I don't know what the hell he's going to do either. the Fact is the 4 for 40 doesn't hold water in the case of the elite athlete ranked #1 at his position. I'm not speaking out of my fandom or slight association to ND of why he should come to ND. From a financial standpoint walking away from that money would be the worst financial decision of the young man's life. NIL should be a strength at ND and everyone knows it. Let's make excuses and toe the line
how much have you contributed to FUND

with the claims of easy 12% guaranteed returns you talk about you surely must have the extra scratch

Why can't he invest the extra $45k a year too? You're assuming he can invest the $500k and not the extra gains by having an ND degree, and again...it's $45k on average. The average Bama alumni probably makes more than their football washouts that don't make it to the NFL (Not saying Keon will be in that boat). On the flip side ND's roster is often loaded with business students. The gap is probably wider on paper.
He could,( I have zero clue what he will do. ) 45k a per year higher value ND degree over Bama That adds roughly 500k@12% to the side of ND over 20 year period.
That just doesn't move the needle to make 4for40 even close to the financial situation like the 20 year growth of a theoretical initial 500k @12% for 20 years =(5.5) mil by the time he's 38.
Hell my dream school was ND and I couldn't get in. I even tried via Holy Cross. I'm coming across as knocking the degree. Notre Dame is one of the greatest academic institutions in the world. I'm strictly speaking in terms of financial gain, and why 4 for 40 just won't appeal to the elite upper echelon players. whether they make financially sound decisions, or make it rain at a night club driving up in 100k Mercedes that will be worth 1/4 of what they paid for it in 6 years. I just can't entertain why ND is better choice financially speaking. It's clear the elite players feel the same way and it pisses me off. These coaches are working their asses off trying to break the status quo, and it's the same ole, same ole.

I understand everyone who is against NIL,. I think they are nuts for not going to ND Objectively if we had to erase all of our passion for Notre Dame, where would you go if you were that kid, his family. Hell, tell me what you would do right now, if you were offered that money at that age or any age? We would all invest the fuck out of it and get out of any remaining debt.
All allegiances aside, especially where these kids don't have the kind of feelings that we do for any one school. What are they going to do? Take the money and it's the smart decision now and later. ND has to find a way to put these asshole schools away, and come up with solutions to beat them for these players. Hard to see them slip right through finger tips.

Not sure why anyone is shocked by this news. This is big boy recruiting that MFMF is competing against and we are going to win some and lose some.

I haven't. Who decides who it's allocated to? I actually think we should start an IE. How about you?

I'm More aggressive than that. I Just used that's as example for a common investment. I manage my own portfolio and Day trade. I'll talk investments and trading all day!
Well,if you just invested in the SPY Index for example you would have a 10% return since it's inception and 15% in the last 10 years. I can tolerate more risk and wanted to retire when I turned around 40 . I also value time more than money and don't need a multi Million dollar home. Although, I won't retire because I trade stocks every morning for a few hours a day and I love it I'm above average at it.

Not so much "shock" as it is frustration and apathy being set in.

ND fans are starting to get really tired with the admins half-assed approach to NIL and if I'm Marcus Freeman, I'm going to Jack and Fr. Jenkins and saying much of the same:

"Look. I took this job to win championships. You hired me to win championships and in order to do that, I need to recruit the best players. But we just watched our highest ranked player, what would've been the highest rated recruit in a decade, a guy who has friends enrolled and committed to ND and very much fits into the mold of a ND student athlete....walk out of the class, because we're not utilizing our massive network to get these guys the NIL money that other schools are doing. I'm telling you straight up. This has been the problem at ND for years. We are content with good, not great, classes and then pat ourselves on the back for good, not great, seasons, where we win 10-12 games in the regular season and then get slapped around by teams that are willing and able to land the best players in the nation year after year. This needs to change or we're going to get left behind. I've shown since the day I stepped on campus, I'm going to do my damnedest to get these kids interested and want to come to ND, but these 5-star kids are looking for guaranteed NIL, and if we don't land even just a few of them, nothing's going to change. We need the boosters/collectives to have our backs on this, because just talking a big game isn't going to get it done anymore. The landscape is changing and if we don't change with it, we're going to get left behind."

I’d just love it if Saban retired.
I want to see LSU destroy Bama for the next decade. Bama don’t get out of their own division.

If any of you ever thought the ND BoT would allow any university program or entity to engage in an NIL philosophy that wasn’t above board, you played yourself.

The way ND has positioned itself in NIL will stand up to scrutiny once there are some legal parameters in place within the next couple years.

Wanting the program you root for to actively get in the gutter with ATM, Bama, Miami, TN? Couldn’t be me. Besides Bama, who was already Bama before any of this, we have no idea how this will play out at Miami or TN.

I wish Keon luck. If the ISD update is legit, it’s unfortunate that another family is using their child as a pay day, as opposed to letting him chase his dreams his own way.

A million is nothing these days. The assumption that someone responsible will invest wisely is not impossible, just unlikely.

Do I blame Keon? Absolutely not. He’s trying to trust people who have been there his whole life. But, even at 17/18, sometimes you gotta take a stand. If he, himself, ultimately doesn’t want to be at ND, no hard feelings.

This time next year, there will be another 5* DE who Alabama will salivate over. And if Keon doesn’t produce right away or is hurt in any way, chances are he will be yesterdays news. Everyone’s favorite player is the one who is next in line, oozing potential. Sports are unforgiving.

I’m confident ND would take care of him no matter what. I just hope Alabama does. I hate seeing these kids get taken advantage of by those closest to them.

That's what I said my man. Revert to the original discussion of why 4for40 doesn't come close to a projected/theoretical 1 mil dollars. I put the 4for40 to rest in the proposed scenario of recieving the theoretical 1 Mil is greater and backed it up with literally 30 second of simple math.
This was all speaking in terms of what is better financially for future wealth in the case of projected NIL payout vs 4for40. Nothing more to discuss

The whole premise of your argument assumes he would make nothing at Notre Dame in NIL money during that time.

f.u.n.d.s are abundant

I heard Keon wanted to take his visits and Freeman told him he needs to decommit then, If that's the case then good for Freeman. I also respect Keon in being honest with the staff. I'd rather him decommit now than last day before signing day. Now it gives the staff 4-5 months to fill his spot.
If you think it’s just over visits, you’re wrong.

So, are you saying that Keon has been silently decommitted since prior to his Bama visit? Lol
