I mean sounds like we lead for Peyton Bowen and Peyton Woodyard, and Adon Shuler has continued to rise in the rankings.
That's great, but who's the game changer week 1 against OSU next year? Are we really hoping Ramon Henderson is that guy? That's a problem. We basically have all our eggs in the Nwankpa basket and that's not good.

You just never no. Second year in this system for the guys that were here. And recruiting guys to fit this system a little bit better. Our defensive coaching staff is good. I would say DB right now is still the weakest. But we have seen more freshman come in a contribute to the team recently. I'll speak for myself and say we'll have to wait and see.

I hear you, but we are currently banking on developmental players becoming game changers. I just don't understand why we haven't been able to do more. Was recruiting just that blah under Lea? I can't imagine that if Freeman was the DC for the last 4 years instead of just the last 1 that we would be in this situation right now. Defensive back recording, especially safeties since Hamilton, has been a real enigma.

do we know who the DC will be next year? if we bring in a DC then next year will be spent learning a new system all over again. dont understand why ND cant just keep a system and force the new DC to learn our system.

Almost certainly will be Mickens or Elston running Freeman’s system.

Mickens might be a good coach but so far recruiting has not been his strong suite. After hearing some of the stories the last week about BK recruiting it sounds like he was as bad if not worse at times which could have played an impact to this. We didn't transfer over much from the Lyght era either.

Mickens in 21' was ranked 204 in recruiting and in 22' 201. His players are good but that's his rankings. I am sure he helps other coaches and doesn't get much credit for that. But these numbers need to improve.

I am going to say Freeman will want to keep his style of defense. JMO

Some random on Twitter saying Nwankpa is signing with ND. Seems highly unlikely but thought I'd pass along. Will see if I can embed

I saw that, too, and got excited until I realized that his sources were the holy spirit.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that they offered the Michigan Safety after talking to Xavier.

Yeah... if he's saying what I think he's saying... what a goofy ass thing for a grown man to say out into the world.

Seems about par for the course for Driskell’s cult at his site. (That’s who he is tweeting at).

Now that you mention it, maybe it’s actually a sarcastic shot at Driskell and his “sources”.

Chris ISD this morning: "He's not coming here".

Best of luck to him at Iowa, hopefully he knocks Michigan off a time or two.

Well you can't say Iowa doesn't do a good job developing defenders. When we start losing QBs and WRs to them we're in trouble. Because their passing game is pathetic.

Yeah, and actually Iowa does really well developing in the secondary.

He's going an hour and a half. He certainly isn't "going away," but he isn't staying in the same town either.

Your parents being able to drive 90 minutes to games rather than flying is a big difference and it’s the main reason Bramblett is grad transferring.
