Yeah. I hate to be a downer. I was pretty excited earlier in the week, and then I had that conversation. On the upside, he did say that USC is unlikely, and that he wouldn't be surprised if ND was his choice. But he said that it was a PSU/FSU battle.

Oh that's okay (that you pooped on our premature welcome party). When he does commit, we'll have all the more reason to celebrate. :eek:grin:

I think recruiting has become our cool-aid to keep Saturdays from wearing us out.

It is all about what information we can get hold of. I hope that DW will prove me wrong.

It doesn't seem as though they will take more than one. First come first serve.

G.Robinson Oregon lean from what I have read....

Can I ask where? I haven't seen anything that would suggest that, in fact I heard he wasn't wowed by his visit to Oregon.

Apparently, Rivals is reporting that Walker has set a announcement date and that he will be an EE. I believe ND was his last visit and the fact that he wants to be an EE could lead one to conclude that Walker may be the silent commit that we've all been speculating about and not Baldwin. That is, if there is even a silent commit. The one thing that stands out to me with Walker is how high his dad was on the Irish. I believe that has to have had an effect on the decision.

Maybe the fact that he wants to be an EE could play into the speculation that he is a silent.

Could he possibly be waiting to announce until he gets confirmation that he would be allowed to be an EE at ND?

If I recall, Blantons father mentioned something about being ready for a commitment, saying he was "quite the catch." Maybe I'm reading into things to much, but Blanton, and Walker basically live near each other. I wonder if they have had contact.

Except, I don't think Walker isn't playing in the AAA game. I think he's playing in the Under Armour HS AA Game (ABC/ESPNU).

FYI, we have a thread about it in the recruiting forum, and it gives quite a bit of info about both games and who's playing in them.

On a side note I would think that if he's going to be an EE that he would have to enroll before his announcement date if he's going to do it on Jan 5th.

I also think that he would almost certainly be at practice for this all star game when he is supposed to be at USC for his January 1 visit. Not sure how that works, but don't think he can be in two places at once. and if he can, I reeeeally want him to commit to ND.

GoIrish that's a really good point. I said before that I don't think USC is the main player here, not that they don't have a chance, I just believe ours is better. He may schedule the visit for an earlier date, I'm not sure if he's in the playoffs or how his schedule looks, but If he changed his visit I'd assume it would be at home against UCLA, that's when most of the big names left on there board are coming.

There's no way he's a silent. He still has one more official planned and he trying to schedule another as well as planning on taking another unofficial to Penn State on Dec. 7th. He also said that he'll probably be a silent to the school he picks untill the ESPN/ABC All-Star game because they contacted him and want him to announce there.

OK so if we land him as an EE he does not count against this year right because we need OL and Cyrus Gray and Robinson....OK can we take 30 this year? Seriously, with all the guys leaving does that free up room for EE and therefore more guys for this class?

He would count against last year if they wanted him to, and so would Cwynar. but ND would need 5 EE to be able to take 30. Neither of which will or should happen. That is way too many in one class unless you are incredibly desperate for bodies, and it would limit next year's class to about 10 guys at max. Remember that ND still has to abide by the 85 scholarship limit. I don't think it really matter's too much though. I really don't get the impression that he's comming to ND. I'm not saying they're out of it but I'm hearing that he's leaning other places.

From what I'm hearing it looks like FSU and PSU are the top two right now.

You and all your truth telling and reality sharing. You're such a facist. :eek:grin:

I've run across some new info that states that ND might even be more in it for Deion than even some of the most homeristic Irish fans thought. Not only was Deion absolutely blown away by his visit to Notre Dame for the Navy game, but now his mom seems to hold the same opionion as his dad. Deion said that she was extremely impressed and really loved ND. While the Irish are still listed in the top five that he is strongly considering they are now reportedly one of the front runners and have around a 50% chance of landing him.

Damn......if we get recruits on campus, our chances go WAAAY up. The gameday experience is a beauty to behold. Just like Johns baby, except cleaning up after a game is less messy.
