Guys,
I really expect us to get back in the W column this week. There really is NO reason for Duke to beat us this coming week. I just review their depth chart and they do not have a single 4 or 5 star player anywhere to be found. In fact, most are not even rated. Further, this is the final home game for us this year. I would really expect our guys to want to leave the stadium in a positive manner after all that has happened this season. Finally, I think our D will prosper playing a team with a more traditional O. That crazy option stuff can drive a man crazy. I also expect Jimmy and company to make more progress. GO IRISH, BEAT BLUE DEVILS!!!!!!!!!!!

It's senior day against Duke, so the freshmen and sophs should step up to send the seniors out on a positive note.

Hopefully every athlete will focus on the man in front of him and want to kick the crap out of him. Hopefully he will forget the history of football, the history of sports talk, the history of this season, and focus on knocking the shit out of the guy in front of him on every single play.

Hopefully they will listen in the huddle to the play called. Hopefully they will remember how to catch, block, tackle, hit, and get hit.

Hopefully they will put all friggen ego aside.

If they can do that, they have a better chance of winning.

I agree with you, there's no reason we shouldn't beat Duke. But the last two weeks against Duke level opponents we beat ourselves.

I'm wasted on kool-aid (and vodak), ND beats duke. Usually it takes until tuesday or wednesday before I forget the last pathetic game.

John, at this point, every first down brings a smile to my face :) :). Seriously though, it would be nice to not lose. I'm beginning to forget what that feels like. The week we played "Bye" seems so long ago...

Let me tell you that it just SUCKS not to be a student anymore. I was there during the Ty years, and it was awful, but at least I could get hammered enough to get psyched about a possible win and enjoy the atmosphere. Now I just sit around trying not to wake my kid up or teach him the "F" word, and scribble notes on the game.

WORST. SEASON. EVER.

So this is what is has come to. We are going to be happy if we beat a 1-9 Duke team that hasn't had a winning season in along time. Tell me again how good our coach is. Ty never lost nine games and had a better record when he was fired than Charlie has now.

I have been saying that losing to Navy and Air Force was our way of supporting the troups. There is no excuse for losing to Duke. They are not going to care b/c basketball season has started. This is week better find the pride to beat a bad team. The line is 5 and I think we should crush them by at least 14.

I know that Navy and Air Force do not have anymore talent than Duke, but that crazy offense that they run frustrates a D to no end. Further, look at the points they are scoring on everyone. Duke on the other hand runs a more traditional O. Finally, this team will want to leave ND stadium on a winning note. GO IRISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly, our tribute to the troops in our down year, let them grab a couple wins that will hold them over for the next 40 odd years as our dynasty rolls college football. As for Duke, if we win, beers are on me!

We could very much lose to Duke, I hate to say it, but they looked much better againist GT than we did. We will have to be lucky to win this game. Someone peed in my kool aid.

Yea, all the newcomers who's only contribution to the site is irrationally anger is rediculous. I mean I love Notre Dame football...a TON, but I don't understand people going around and joing internet forums only to blow up beyond belief.

I don't know what planet you have been living on lately, go-green. But there are two absolutes on planet earth, these days:

1. Death

2. Notre Dame fired Ty Willingham simply because he is black.

Weis, in case you haven't noticed, is a white guy. He'll probably get a 50 year contract extension, this year, just so ND doesn't have to worry about having another minority running around the campus.

I dont think being black got Ty fired. But i do believe Charlie being white got him that fatter contract.

Is that racist shit still not over? If Charlie doesn't look good next year, his ass will get canned also. They only thing that is keeping him here for sure are his first two seasons with a BCS showing and the great recruiting. TY WASN"T IMPROVING THE PROGRAM! Not with wins or recruiting. How much Money does the University recieve for just being in a BCS bowl. Charlie is getting paid alot but at least he has earned a little of his money with his first two years and the recruiting. TY SUCKED AND EVERYONE KNOWS IT!! Shut up with all the crybaby racism whining.

Are you for real? We shouldn't be predicting that we should CRUSH anyone. We'll be lucky to win the game.

I think we've all noticed, and I also think that there are a few who use multiple usernames, and continuously post the same things.
