Camping at ND next month.

Indiana's highest rated lineman at this time. Roncalli's Catholic and was the 4A state champ. Hoops too. Sounds like that one guy in every class.

Looks like SNL's Colin Jost on steroids.

possible legacy. We had a couple guys with that last name, but way back 60's or early 70's. Grandfather?

Might be. There are a lot of Lauck's on the southside of Indy and they've been there since back in the early 20th century. IIRC my dad went to HS with one of them at Sacred Heart which was merged with Chartrand to form Roncalli. When my mom passed, she was shown at the Lauck funeral home which is still in business.

Only Roncalli kids I know that didn't like ND were the ones with IU degrees.

I graduated with a couple of Lauck's at RHS. There are a lot and the bloodline runs deep.

Chuck Lauck was a 1965 ND Frosh recruit from Indianapolis Sacred Heart HS for Ara
a New World Catholic HS All American -Fullback

Frosh weren't eligible for the varsity back then

Ara moved Lauck to DE as a soph -a two year starter for ND

1966 Soph yr -Lauck backed up starting DE Alan Page /Irish won National Championship
Lauck played 31 minutes -made 6 tackles

1967 Jr yr- Lauck was the starting RDE
1968 Sr yr-Lauck was the starting RDE

Not sure of the relationship to this recruit/ND target (Trevor Lauck) -but note that both are from Indy

"Chick" Lauck is Trevor's grandfather.

Solid offers. Makes sense he'd camp at ND and Ohio State, though.

He hoops too and moves pretty well for a dude his size. Good feet.

I bet he camps well and then it's up to the staff.

I went to Roncalli with Trevor’s dad, David. He’s a really, really good guy. If Trevor is offered at camp, he’ll commit; maybe even on the spot. No idea where Trevor got his size (Dave’s around 5’11” 170 and Chick’s about the size of a big running back.)

Local intel confirms it! Wrap it up!

BTW

What's up with all the Southside Indy guys here?

It'll be interesting to see how they play their cards with guys like Lauck and Luke Burgess. Last time I checked, they were doing well with guys like Proctor, Bisontis, and other higher ranked guys.

Caught up with a few of my RHS buddies on the golf course yesterday who stay pretty close to the football program. They make it sound like Lauck to ND is all but a done deal for what it's worth.

Also said that the former Rebels will be loaded next year as most everyone returns from last year's state title team. I didn't know that they got Moeller's old coach...must not have been paying close enough attention. :) But it's about damn time because that guy from Perry Meridian was bad. Apparently, his son got him in some shit for hazing at RHS and they used that as their excuse to give him the boot. It absolutely couldn't have been any worse than what some of the knuckleheads got away with who I went to Roncalli with.

Why move to Carmel?

That just tacks an extra half hour onto your drive when going to see IU home games.

She's from a place called Mexico, IN - so anything with safe drinking water is like God's country to her.

Won his opener last Friday against 6A Southport 55 to 7. RHS is stacked this year. Buddies said that Lauck was just crushing Southport defenders.

Probably will go watch this Friday against another 6A school Franklin Central.

I've seen that sign a thousand times heading up to SB for games. Finally decided to take a quick detour on the way. There's not much there!

Not sure how good FC is this year with a new coach. Came from behind to beat Perry Meridian 27 - 21. RB had 230+ yards.

One of the sons just took an assistant wrestling coaches job at Roncalli. Traitor!

They'll be tough out for anyone this year. They have a massive OL, one guy's committed to a MAC school, a couple others will play in college at some level. Their QB is rated and has Ivy offers.

They had @ 350 yds rushing and shut it down in the 3rd.

Lauck's the twig second from the left.

Correct, Mexico IN is a whole lot of nothing except maybe the Eel River if anyone is brave enough to float down that.

Didn’t realize that FC got a new coach this year. They can’t be that good if having to come back against Perry though. I don’t think think that they won a game last year. I live down the road from Perry and the neighborhood kids say that they’re not good at any sport.

Good for your son. RHS is usually pretty strong in wrestling. Hope that it works out for him.

That Oline is a lot bigger than the RHS line that I played on for sure. What are they feeding those south siders….?!?!
