P.S. I’ve seen conflicting info on whether the ND visit was official or not so that is even more confusing. A 247 article today indicates it was an official along with a more recent official to Washington.

He himself said it was an unofficial on twitter. Had ND paid for an official, wouldn't that mean they'd be much more interested in him... even as a future Plan C (Like Ryan Baer was going to be before the parties went their separate ways). And if that were true, wouldn't we now have countless ND vs UDub stories ahead of his announcement?

If ND didn't just land Estime, he maybe has a spot but they need to keep looking for Diggs / Price types because if you grab one per year, someone's gonna turn into a Dexter.

Would JD price not be considered a top 5 target? He may not be the equal of this year's top 3 of Sawchuk, Hayden, and Singleton, but he's not far from it.

He may end up being a complete stud, but it was pretty clear that this year's top-3 targets were Sawchuck, Hayden, Singleton. Last year was really just Shipley, but you COULD include Edwards. JD is a great prospect, but it doesn't make the other whiffs OK IMO...

Cool opinion. I'm glad the staff have pivoted well and still appear to have the cupboard stocked with RBs we'd have killed for even 2 years ago.

Hopefully Singleton stretches this out and keeps ND under consideration.

I agree that our RB situation is improved as compared to the latter days of Denson, but it just feels like we get these gap closers in our sights and we just can't close on them...on the offensive side of the ball anyway. Hopefully Diggs and Estime turn out to be studs as well, but at some point we need to regularly land ELITE skill position guys if we're ever going to close the gap between us and Bama/Clemson/OSU.

The gap closers have to come at WR. ND's got good enough RB's now to win a natty and have had good enough ones most years since 2015.

Throw in Buchner's wheels next year and watch out, especially if Kyren somehow comes back.

Agreed, the biggest gap is at WR
