As long as we're going shopping in Nebraska, here's some other guys who might decide that Nebraska is just too screwed up for them honor their commitments.

OT Brandon Thompson ***

RB Jonas Gray ****

MLB Will Compton ****

QB Blaine Gabbert *****

OT Bryce Givens ****

OT Dan Hoch ****

OG Baker Steinkuhler ****

Gray and Givens are the only ones that I could really see happening. Maybe Compton too if ND were to lose a LB.

I say offer all their OL, Heck!! Offer all the top OL left on the board. I'm sure we'd hit the jackpot somewhere.

Steinkuhler's dad was all-american at NU so its safe to say he is probably not jumping ship.

Well, it looks like we may have been wrong reports are surfacing now that ND has been in contact with Compton recently too. This still somewhat suprises me. Compton waited around for ND to offer him after he camped here during the summer, but then later picked Nebraska when ND failed to offer. My only guess would be that if they decided to offer him now they still want another LB in the fold, but they were holding out for Sabino, or Lewis-Moore at the time.

Will is scheduled to be at the Mizzou/Texas Tech game this weekend with Gabbert.

Do we really need more LBs? Maybe one of the LBs will be putting his hand on the ground? Either way, we are recruiting speed, which is a good sign.

If we get him along with all the other quality Line backers. People may start to call us Linebacker U. That wouldn't be a bad thing. Look at how deep teams like OSU and LSU are on defense. It's like a revolving door of talent at those schools.

I would like to see ND offer this guy, I believe he could become an asset to our team in the future. He is very quick and we need more speed on defense. If you could get this guy this defenseive recruiting class could be one big, fast, nasty defense. I like it. It has been way to long since we have had a defense teams have been afraid of.

He's quick, and you can never have too many athletes to shuffle in and out. I would imagine that Corwin wants versatility for different defensive packages. I would like to see even classes, but Neal and Smith are playing as freshman, so if you redshirt a couple of these lb's, you have three years with talented lb's with different graduation dates (plus 09 lb's who will play as freshman).

I really can't see Will getting an offer at this point. Unless CB pulls a huge shock the only defensive player left on ND's board is Datone Jones.

cool, thanks for the info. I guess I was going off of week old posts. Any chance Marcus Forston comes back around (did he ever visit campus?), or are there no more DT's no matter what.

I don't think there's any need for any more DT's unless ND were to lose one andwhile Marcus always seemed to have some interest in ND he never visited and I think he would have ended up a Cane all along. That's not to say that CB isn't still in contact with him though, but personally I'm glad ND got the guys they did, and Forston went to Miami. I'm not sure if you're familiar with the the story, but early during last season or shortly before former Miami Northwestern RB Antwain Easterling (Now at So. Miss) took part in the raping of a 14 year old girl in a bathroom stall with two other older guys, Antwain was the yougest of the three. However it was basically swet under the rug by the coaching staff, principle and school board so he could continue to play and help lead them to a state title.
The girl is now at a psychiatric facility after trying to tried to commit suicide two or three times.

Anyway E60 covered it as one of their stories on one of their earlier shows and Forston agreed with most of the his other teamates that blamed the girl for bringing down the program and more specificall Forston stated he was ashamed of the girl but he has forgiven her. After all, she's crazy, she's in a "mental place" you know. His teammate raped this poor young girl and he's blaming her for a distraction to the football team. Personally I don't want someone like that to ever put on a ND uniform or golden helmet, plus I wouldn't want to cheer for someone like that.

I thought Antwain had consensual sex with the chick in a stall after a game. It was "statutory" rape but he didn't force her.

Maybe it was two different girls. I know one was 14, and one was raped in a bathroom stall. I thought they were the same girl, but maybe there were two incidents.

Will officially decomitted from NU, and he will choose between Mizzou and Illinois. Mizzou looks to have the lead right now.

I would rather see him end up at Mizzou, than landing at Zooker's. I beleive Ron is a crook who just happens to be impersonating a HC.

Will got some good news today. ND issued him his long awaited offer. It's been well known that he grew up a die hard ND fan and was nthe next LB we would offer. Is it to late in the game for him to jump on board?

I'm not and we may be recruiting him as a full back. Here's the best part this is a two team race. We jumped Mizzou and Kansas for his services

By the way I love this kid. I have been high on him from the start. He's a old school throwback much like Jacob hester of LSU

I can confirm the info. Apparently CW tried to reach him on Sunday but was unable to and then offered officially on Monday. They're recruiting him as a Fullback and there's a good chance he'll take an official visit on the 18th.

This would be a great get at FB. This would instantly put our FB back in the passing game. He has great hands and only knows one way to run North and South.
