I was stuck in an airport last night and so did not see your question until now, otherwise I would have replied sooner.
I can only speak for the MSU game weekend b/c that's when I was there. The student section cheered their hearts out for the team the entire game. The heart went out of a lot of the non-student spectators in the 4th quarter when Evan Sharpley went 3 and out, but the student section never gave up, never stopped making their "OOOOHHH" noise to support the defense and cheering every good play.
I went to the drummers circle the night before the game, and it was packed, mostly with students. They stayed the entire hour, doing every cheer at least a dozen times. Wore my 37-year-old self out.
Never fear, the students are behind their classmates. Sure, they are upset like all of us at the results of the team. Sure, some are critical of individual and collective performances. But the support does not waver.
