I know it is early but is it just me or is this shaping up to be one of the worst Sport Years in recent history?

BCS Game-Blow out
Super Bowl- Unless your a Chicago Bear or Colt fan, boring. Terrible weather. Too many mistakes

College Basketball--Besides the freshman, boring. Even the tournament was upset-less save for VCU upset over Duke.

NBA-Playoffs--Boring
NHL Playoff--Couldn't find it. Duck fans loved it though...

All of these scandals-- Mike Vick, The NBA Ref, Barry Bonds possibly breaking the HR record.

What say you? Can you remember a worse year sports wise?

The Yankees are going to have a great comback and win the world series and Arod will earn his pinstripes.

I'll jump on board with that one, except for the part where ARod earns his pinstripes I think he already has.

How about an Irish victory over Michigan and PSU that would be a glorious time for all. I would say USC but I want to be semi-realistic.

When we haven't hit football season, it's too early to tell. But so far, it has kind of sucked.

Baseball has been pretty tight thus far I must say... the wrong team leads the East but that'll change and only add to the overall dopeness of it all...

The good: a very watchable and exciting Tour. Alberto Contador, an incredible young rider, with the most "whoosh" I've ever seem in a cyclist. Levi Leipheimer stolidly pacing his way onto the podium.

The bad: Patrik Sinkewitz and fuckin motherfucker Alexander Vinokourov testing positive for doping. Levi Leipheimer stolidly pacing his way into 3rd place instead of first.

It will be even better if Michael Rasmussen's chicken ass falls apart during the time trial on Saturday.

Between the Olympics and Cycling I don't know which is worse. It has come to the point where you can't trust anybody. That is one of the wrongs in sports today...

I seen the ESPN segment where they basiclly went through every major sport and in every major sport there is either a controversy or scandal. That segment prompted me to start this thread and see everyone's take on the current state of sports.

Very bad time in American sporting...

I am not sure what you are talking about but I have never deemed the Tour de France as "watchable"

Well, I feel the same about baseball. :) To each our own I guess.

A lot of the sprint stages can be dull until the last 10 minutes, but there is little that is more exciting to me than a bunch sprint for the finish line. In the moutains, seeing the guys attack each other, sparring and parrying up steep hills that the rest of us couldn't climb in our wildest dreams, it doesn't get much better.

If we beat USC this year, that will be better. ;)
