Where's the best place to go to watch the Irish play an away game? I've been to south bend a few times but have never been to watch them play away from home.
The Rose Bowl...you think USC fans are bad should have been down on Bourbon St. for the Sugar Bowl..LSU fan are terrible
Skip USC, the Coliseum is one of the worst places on earth to watch a football game. Never go to the Big House, or Spartan Stadium unless your life insurance is paid up, you are really, really drunk, or you are Aaahnold in his prime. State College is not bad, although it is an absolute zoo on Game Day. This year, PSU along with the previously mentioned Stanford and UCLA games are the only away games worth considering.
Agreed, and don't make the mistake of forgetting where you are parked after the game too... you may never be seen again
LOL- that almost happened to me last year. If I ever go again, I'm just gonna pony up the $50 & park in the Shriners garage.
I have been a season ticket holder @ UCLA for about a decade and there is nowhere, other than South Bend, where I'd rather spend a gameday. The tailgate scene, which takes place on the golf course next to the Rose Bowl, is out of this world. Good, friendly heavily intoxicated crowd!
I've thought about going to neyland stadium the next time UT and ND. play but have heard that if you are a visiting fan there you are better off watching it from the couch.
IUB...you planning on going to the PSU game this year, I was considering it since I am only 2 hours away but wasn't sure how the nittany crowd would recieve a domer.
Hell no...One of the best experiences I've ever had watching the Irish on the road. Their fans remind me a lot of coming to ND for the first time... Tailgating was great as we parked right in the garage next to the stadium...everyone handing out beers and brews and food...Very nice people. But to a man that we talked to, they all said to us...
"Welcome to Tennessee"..."Glad you made the trip down"..."We're excited to play a team of Notre Dame's caliber" (we got a chuckle out of that one...especially when they play a meatgrinder SEC schedule)...Those people were great. It especially didn't hurt that we won the last game down there but it was a very enjoyable experience...Neyland Stadium is a site to behold as well. Those people are into the game from start to finish. Awesome.
Fifty dollars is a small price to pay to avoid being killed for wearing blue... that having nothing to do with cfb fo course... lol
Actually the L.A. Coliseum is in a Crip (Blue) neighborhood. You don't want to wear red because if you do you might get smoked by the Hoover Crips that live around that area.:mob:
I've been to Pittsburg 3 times and had a great time all three. Tennessee was fantastic, BYU was fun too.
Don't go to Purdue, OSU or Michigan.
Well I'm not sure when UT will be back on the schedule with ND. but after reading these posts, I"ll be taking me a trip to Neyland When the Irish come down here.
I was attempting to and have a couple of connections for the Penn State game this year. Was wondering if this would be a good place to take my son, or should I stick with the 4 man wrecking crew of me, my dad, HCTI and my buddy Roy?
