I don't see Filer pulling the trigger, besides what the rush for him? If Charlie told him he will hold a spot, then he has time to wait and take officials. Now if Sabino commits early, it may change things if he wants to play at ND. I also doubt that our recent verbals had anything to do with him making this trip. If I'm right, I believe he set up these visits several weeks ago.

Man I hope not, I don't understand it, go to ND and play w/ studs, and for the National Title perhaps, on T.V. every week, NFL type Head Coach. Or go to the Fighting Illini to get waxed every week, play w/ Tez and A. Benn, and sit around at night w/ them and wonder why all three of you aren't irish. I hope he is smart enough to see where he should be and come to South Bend!!!!!

----Wow that is huge news considering his "I'm going to take my sweet ass time approach." Those comments are verrrry interesting since he's going to be visiting later this month. If CB closes the deal on Filer, I wouldn't be suprised to see a 3 man commit weekend with Sabino and Jeremy. I know I know, I'm getting ahead of myself. But this is the first good news I've read on Filer so far.

Thomas is not close to a decison based on a Scout article.

I don't think ND will save a spot for him. My understanding is that there are only 6 spots left. The time to get on the train is right now.

If that's indeed the case, I'd agree that ND is the likely leader, though I can offer some insight on Ohio state and Filer. I think a lot of people are assuming Hale is in the bag and that he ends up playing a Bobby Carpenter type LB/DE hybrid, or he just converts to DE. That would leave us with really only Sweat as our sole LB commit. The staff looks like they want a second LB, and they appear to be targeting Filer and Sabino for that spot. Ohio State is pretty loaded at LB right now, so while class depth won't be an issue, talent in front of him would be. I think we likely end up second unless he's had some really good times when at Ohio State and just hasn't told anyone, but that seems unlikely...

When is his visit? Is it going to be the same time as Sabino, and, or Brown, or is it going to be on his own. It would be great to have Filer, and the two afformentioned playters. I think with Flemming and Cwynar barking in his ear, it may give us an edge, but then again, maybe not. Hopefully we land him!!

Don't tell Hale that. I've heard he doesn't want any part of DE.

I know quite a few buckeye insiders see him playing the Carpenter role, and considering we're recruiting a number of rush defensive ends, the coaches seem like they have him at linebacker as wel. He'd be perfect for the Carp role IMO. He has the same measurables as Carp out of high school, and he's a terror rushing the passer, but he's also a good linebacker(not great yet, but you can see the potential) so he can drop back into space and stand up and move around. Tressel loves versatile players like that.

Enough about Hale though. I think it's more likely we get neither of Filer and Sabino, and Hale and Sweat are our linebacker haul for the year.

I'd guess right now that Sabino drinks the butch kool-aid and ends up at UNC and Filer goes to ND, and in the end I think all parties(aside from Michigan) are happy.

If you happen to land Hale, that would make for a nice haul at LB for you guys. From what I've seen, your entire class looks really good right now. I haven't talked to many Buckeye fans, but most on some of the other sites can get pretty obnoxious, it's nice to have fans from other teams that enjoys good conversations and posts, the same for Michigan fans. I'm rather glad I've found this site, it's nothing like rivals, or scout, when it comes to message boards. I post mostly on BGI, and it gets heated just amongst Irish fans so I don't need to get into it with fans from other teams, but I just wanted to say that you've had some great and informative posts, keep up the good job. It's great to not only talk to you but everyone else on here for that matter.

Thanks for the kind words. My philosophy is that there are a million better things to fight over than where kids I'm not connected to go to college. I enjoy recruiting, but I try not to get worked up over it.

GOT IT. The final two are OSU annnnnnnnnd ND. Good news for ND IMO. No Michigan (After we heard rumblings of them leading.) NO Illinois (I don't need to explain why here.) His upcoming visit to South Bend could end this whole thing. I could EASILY see him and Sabino ending their recruitment by the end of July. A big end of the month coming up...

I dont mind people posting things such as 'Filer down to ND and OSU'... that will get out as soon as rivals or whomever updates the 'interest' page, meaning its premium that we here it first but will be free very shortly. Things such as the 'Foster/Filer/UM' post came from a special conversation someone on II had with someone in the know. That sort of thing is meant to STAY on rivals as premium info. Thats the kind of thing that makes me mad. This guy pawning it off as 'sources are saying' or 'my inside info' is just a joke.

Go ahead and laugh this off now, or talk about how 'dumb' I am for paying for it when I could get it for free here, or tell me I should cancel my subscription... but this is the kind of stuff that gets sites like this shut down. And nobody wants that, do they?

Once again... stuff like 'Filer down to OSU and ND' doesnt get sites like this shut down... that could have come from multiple sources.

But the whole 'Foster/Filer/UM' post 'GoshenGipper' restated as his own info came straight (almost word from word) from a rivals premium 4HL post and can be traced down as premium info straight to that post. If he does have a rivals account, I hope he deletes the post. If he doesnt, I apologize to him but I still hope now that he knows the source of the info he stills deletes the post. Just because a friend told you the info, doesnt make it all of a sudden free.

Once again, I don't want to sounds anal... don't want the site shut down... don't want to start problems... just want premium info of this nature kept where it belongs. If that happens, the site stays open and everyone is happy.
