Clausen Injured??

Ran across this article about Jimmy playing with an injured arm since last year. I know the article states that Weis doesn't see it as a problem, but then again what coach would admit anxiety about a highly touted QB? Anyone else heard of anything about the injury or have anymore info? I really hope its just a tired arm and nothing serious.

Last I read, Jimmy wasn't supposed to throw at all at least until spring practice started. That's today, I think. So it will be telling to find out whether JC is throwing again or if he's still resting his arm.

In Charlies presser today he stated that everyone on the team if "Full Go" and no one will be sitting out of missing practice except for the 3 players that play other sports. He said about Clausens situation that from now on he will be the only one speaking on the health of his players (Refering to Clausen Sr. who talked to the papers about Jimmys arm).

Uh oh....dad needs to remember that this isn't pop warner anymore, there are bigger things at work here than just Jimmy. But I'm sure Charlie and he have already had that chat about what to say and what to keep to yourself. Glad to hear its nothing serious, but I can't help but wonder if this will have any impact on who gets the starting position this year.

No, I mean will the arm "injury" inhibit him from doing all he can do in order to get ready to start for an elite Div 1 football team by the fall time. He graduated from HS in the Fall '06 and enrolled in ND in January '07 as did Gray and Allen.

Just saw this today. Anybody know anything?

I recently found out from a trustworthy source who I cannot name (read: doctor) that ND freshman QB Jimmy Clausen recently underwent elbow surgery. Supposedly he will miss the entire season. Whether that means the recovery period covers the length of the season or ND will choose to redshirt him is unclear. With Clausen out the two leading candidates for the job would be Demetrius Jones and Evan Sharpley. I hope this is wrong.

I really hope thats not true, you never know how someone is going to return after elbow surgery. I find it strange though that if this were true that Zach would be ready to leave ND, which would essentially leave ND with only 2 QBs.

If that is the case, then I would think that Tom Zbikowski would be our 3rd QB.

i really doubt that's true, it just doesnt make sense then why Zach would transfer if he knew that, etc. but you never know

It's a blog so it's very unconfirmed. If it is true it'll come out fairly soon, this isn't something you can hide for very long. If he is truely out for the year Weis will let it be known before everyone puts their own little twist on it. As of right now it's not true.

I'm a little bit skeptical, based on the fact that most of the previous talk about his supposed injury was regarding his shoulder, not his elbow. Anything is possible I suppose, but... lets just say I'm leery if some random blogger beats the rest of the organized media machine to the punch.
