'08 PA LB Andrew Sweat (Ohio State Verbal)

That might be a bit of an overkill statement... 4 LB's makes sense to a lot of guys like me. Stunned would be if we only got 3 DL commits.

I'm not talking about 4 LB's, I am talking about Sweat being the 4th one. Overkill? Sorry I confused you, next time I'll try to make myself clearer.

Nick(Gallup21) talked to Sweat on IM today and said Sweat says there is a 65% chance of him committing to us. That would put us in the lead, but his mind changes quite frequently so I would just assume wait it out before pegging him Irish. Not sure when he is going to decide besides before his Sr. season starts. I would love it just that much more because all that shit OSU fans talk about how much of a lock he is and ND fans are "delusional".

I wouldn't say that Andrew has is certain on which school he will decide upon. I can so, though, that he has a narrowed list of 2 or 3 schools that he consistently runs with and a clear first and second.

OSU has been the co-favorite for Sweat for a long time now. The other top co-favorites were PSU, then Florida, then now ND. Going by this criteria, I expect him to commit to OSU soon. But then again, it was the same case with Barksdale last year. But I sure do feel a lot better about Sweat than I ever did about Barksdale though.

I read the same thing Irishknight did, but I interpreted it as gallup's take on the situation, rather than spitting back what Andrew said word for word. Andrew's latest blurb said he has no favorites, so from his mouth, thats what I'm sticking too.

GD3- What latest blurb? Yesterday in an interview Sweat made it very clear that as of yesterday at least ND & OSU are definitely his 2 favorites, and that he plans to announce a third favorite on Friday. These 3 teams are then supposed to be his final cut before he makes a final decision. So unless something changed since yesterday, which is always possible in this case, ND & OSU are his two current favorites.

Let me rephrase: he doesn't have ONE favorite. Its not like, "OSU is #1, and I think ND has a shot but needs to recruit me harder etc." IrishKnight was making it sounds like ND and OSU are the favs, and that ND is being looked at as the leader by Sweat. The way I heard it from that interview is that he stated ND and OSU are both considered equals for that #1 spot. Sorry, poor phrasing.

That is interesting information, but I would hope that parents would meet with coaches from a recruit's top 3 team. Pretty sure that there is not an exact correlation between parents meeting coaches and recruit signing. FYI, my first 20 girlfriends met my parents, yet amazingly I did not marry any of said G-F's.

Guy may sign with OSU, or he may be bringing his mother to meet with the coaches for the first time. Has been a bit of a roller-coaster though.....

Last I knew Andrew had said he would announce sometime in June or July but hadn't set an official date yet.

Andrew doesn't have a set time. He will announce "when [he] feels comfortable."

This is just speculation. If Andrew knew where he would was going, he would be more sure of an announcement date. More than "when I'm comfortable" anyways.

That's somewhat of a suprise. Iwould've thought PSU, or UF would have made the cut over Michigan. Thanks for the update.
