Seriously, I know it's hard not to, but there is way too much hand wringing going on about Steve Filer's recruitement, especially when you consider that ND already has three verbal commits from great LB's. IK1023, not sure why you don't like Filer, other than his expressed lack of enthusiasm to the media, but he is one of the best LB prospects in this class, IMO better than Beal and Sweat, and anyone else that ND has not offered, with the possible exception of Jon Major. He is probably not on a level with Arthur Brown, or Shayne Hale, and maybe not quite up to Sabino, but he is certainly at least on the level of Poz and McDonald. The Irish may not get him, but it is not for lack of effort. Filer wants to take his time, and he may end up not having a slot available if he waits too long. It is still early, but if ND get three or four more commits in May, the pressure is going to start to mount on kids like Filer & Floyd to decide whether ND is really the place for them. Que sera, sera.
One other thing, IK1023, I'm not sure why you think Filer is showing so much love to Meechigan. The Sun Times article has already been discredited, and I have seen nothing that indicates that Filer loves Michigan. To the contrary, there is some significant information that indicates that there is no love lost between Lloyd Carr, and Filer's high school head coach. This is significant because Filer is apparently relying more on his Coach than his family for guidance through this process. If Filer had to make a choice today, I still believe he would pick ND, if it is three months down the road, who knows.
