While I like just about all of the cars in the GoshenGipper line-up, few are in my budget. Accordingly, for the money, I don't think anything can beat the S-2000 (I have an original and only drive it in the summer).
If money were not an object, I would go for the Ford GT or the Shelby Mustang.
I also have to comment on Irishdodger's statement on Jags and Fords. I agree you don't know much about cars. Before Ford purchased Jaguar, their portfolio of cars was notoriously unreliable, particularly as it related to electronic components and wiring harnesses. After Ford purchased them, they invested a couple of billion to bring up the cars mechanical quality and performance. Ain't noth'in wrong with em now.
