It sounds a little like you don't think much of BC as a school. I'm sure you know it is one of the best schools in the country. I agree that ND beats it in terms of Football team and tradition (obviously). but as far as academics go, they are basically identical.
Based on what criteria? I'm not big on school rankings, but can you name me one ranking that has ND & BC equal. ND also offers a superior range of college programs and facilities. Did you read Beal's statement about the ND Business School program? Did you also read that the same program was one of the major contributing factors in Sean Cwynar's selecting Notre Dame. Have you done a comparison of both schools, including visits to the physical sites, while determining which school offers a superior education for your child?
Flea Flicker- I don't want to get into a pissing contest with you about ND & BC because you usually only post about things that you are knowledgeable about, but in this case, you either do not know the facts, or someone from BC has steered you wrong. BC is a Top 50 National University, but it is nowhere near ND on any level, and that is the reason why 8 out of 9 students who are accepted to both ND & BC end up choosing Notre Dame.
