After 1 period, no score......pretty even period overall. Both sides had some great chances (ND should probably have 3 on the board by now). Both goalies playing great....MSU's Lerg, maybe a little better only because ND's had a slight edge in better chances.

Game's pace is like night and day from last night....this game is MUCH faster. If you saw the CCHA championship game vs Michigan, it's a very similar pace. Not really in ND's favor, if you ask me.

After 2 periods, Sparty leads 1-0. Brown made the initial save but no one was covering the guy to his right and he tapped in the rebound.

Think I gotta agree with the guys calling the game, ND looked like they're worn down after last night. About halfway through the period, they just lost their step. Barely putting any penalty kill pressure on MSU (MSU's goal was on the PP). Most of the time their passes aren't connecting. AND they've taken alot of penalties. No real possession of the puck. Had a couple good chances but Lerg is a damn good goalie and is the main reason MSU is leading.

No idea how ND wasn't on the PP with a couple minutes after Lawson was completely decked in front of the MSU net. Sure looked like it would be that way before they cut to commercial. Come back and for whatever reason, it was 4 on 4, no ND powerplay.

The Spartans will be bitching about having their first goal taken off the board but too damn bad. You can't stand in the crease behind the goalie and give him a shot in the back and then expect the goal to count.

This is killing me....I wanted this bad. Hurts more than either of the last couple of bowl game losses. Hurts more than the Bush Push. Knew I let myself get too high on them.

This would have been a much different game had they taken care of business last night and not had to play 5 periods of hockey. If they'd have gotten a couple PP goals and put Alabama to bed in the first, this could have been a much happier night.
