I luv texas food, and i've been to memphis, but the best rib place I have ever had is in cincinnati....Montgomery Inn. If you ever go to that city, you gotta get the ribs there!!!

Wish I could right right now!

Memphis has some awesome food. Especially The Rendevous (dry rub ribs!) & Gus' Fried Chicken (spicy & very unhealthy!) & of course the ultimate triple bypass contributor...BB King's (voted one of the least healthy restaurants in the nation):guitar:

Texans and BBQ, no way, they eat that beef brisket shit. Come to the real south and eat it the right way. Pork, Lexinton NC style.

I wasn't endorsing Texas BBQ just noting that homey's prefer their own. Your post supports mine.

however, as compared to most fast food places they are head and shoulders above them...

Yeah, I make a mean burger too, so they are not better than a perfectly grilled one. But when compared to other burger joints, they win.

But that wasn't the premise of the thread, was it?

<HR style="COLOR: #ffffff" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->This place has the best hamburgers ever! Especially coming home from the beach from a day of surfing! Unfortunately, they seem to be mostly located on the west coast. A double-double, fries, and a shake from that place is heaven (for those who believe).
I dare ya'll to dispute my claim.

Chain or comparisons "to other burger joints" wasn't part of his claim. Simply put, "best hamburgers ever!" Thank you for your concurrence!

you DO realize that 99% of Texas is more south than Lexington, NC, right? BBQ is at it's best in Memphis.

In-and-Out IS the best burger.... this coming from someone who has never lived out west... so it's not a geographical upbringing that has shaped my preference.

Hey, wise ass, Florida is 100% south of Lexington but that don't make it "Southern," right?

Texas BBQ is MUCH better than BBQ you can get in NC. I'll agree and say that brisket isn't my favorite, but real pit BBQ in Texas with ribs, sausage, pork, etc. is second to none.

Nothing better than that vinegar based Q you get from NC. Note I am from Georgia, but my vote goes to the vinegar based.

Wilson says the best thing in the WORLD (and he has been around the world) is vinegar based sandwich with a bit of slaw on top with a few ribs on the side. Holy shit, I'm gonna find some tomorrow. Can't do it today because any realBBQ joint is only open Thursday Friday and Strdy.

From Someone's Web -site:

Great NC BBQ is sublime. It's fairly straightforward to produce in small quantities--you need a hog, a smoker, some beers, and some friends willing to sit up all night drinking & tending the low, slow fire that's producing the smoke that's actually doing the cooking.

EDIT:

I forgot the corn bread and bannana puddin'. O hell yeah!

Living in Cali I can tell you the Habit is way better than In-N-Out. I think they're only in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties.

Heresy I say! I call for the burger challenge. Of course, you have to remember, In-N -Out tastes better after coming home FROM the beach. Keep that in mind when eating.
