Jaylen's Cass Tech (Div2 state champs) squad will face off against Detroit MLK (Div1 state champs) opening weekend of the MHSFB season. Scouts/recruitniks will be all over this game, arguably the greatest collection of Michigan high school talent will be on show in one game.

a five star with no academic interest then yes perhaps that is true, Kelly-Powell is an underrated 3 star who seems like he has a good head on his shoulders.

You're right dublin, when it comes to recruiting this kid has my 3 favorite words in his bio... Duke, Stanford & Northwestern. When I see that I know there's a 99% chance he's an option. Also, in regards to what rtrn2glory said about Cass Tech kids... ND was early while MSU had been offering his friends for over a year. That really matters. Sometimes kids can't get that taste out of their mouth of being slighted early in the process. It's one of the big reasons ND gets kids from SoCal every year. Nd does a better job recruiting them throughout the process while SC and UCLA are focused on their top of the board. ND is always option #3 or #4 here behind SC / UCLA and is set up the same in Michigan behind UM / MSU and might have to fight tOSU for some targets like they do Stanford in Cali.

Lastly, JKP is a should be a solid 4 star. Rivals is the only one of the 4 that still has him at three. The odd thing is 247 has him as a 3 star on their Comp. Has to be a typo I'd assume.

Sorry to nitpick, but MLK won the D2 state championship, and Cass lost to Romeo in the D1 state championship. Obviously this will be an incredible matchup. Would love for ND to be able to steal some DPS (Detroit Public School) kids from MSU and scUM.
