Didn't want to put this in Kelly's thread but the question was raised, Kelly or McCulloch?

I go McCulloch.

Question meaning...who we want more? Or who we think is most likely to commit?

Either way I'll go with what you say. You know more about these two than I do. Although from what I read Kelly is pretty freaking good, as well.

Yes, who we want more. Kelly is pretty freaking good but I give McCulloch the edge.

Alright, good...nice having two studs LBs highly interested in ND this late in the game. Hope we pull at least one. If we get both I'm for sure taking the next day off from work...that would be awesome.

Lord please give us at least one of them. Need all the defense. FWIW I'd prefer Kelly...freak athlete.

I actually think that McCulloch is the better overall athlete. He tested off the charts at the Opening. Now I know that they have a weird way of doing things but its the same for everyone and he was near the top. Great combination of a lot of tangible traits.

I just want one of Jones, McCulloch, or Kelly. They are all really close as far as how much I want them in this class. If we get two of those three I will be overjoyed as all three are very impressive prospects to me.

When I watched their senior highlights I think I was most impressed with Jones, then Kelly, then McCulloch. But I'm no scout...just how I felt as I was watching. Jones really reminded me of Nyles Morgan...not sure if that's a good thing tho haha. But I do know we were all drooling over Morgan's tape when he was being recruited.

Like I said originally tho, I would be happy with any one of them and thrilled with any two of them. Mix and match them however you want...just make them Irish.

I read somewhere that jimmy Johnson (Miami) used to take line backers and build the into line man and big safeties and turn them in linebackers. That's how they got their speed and with the way the option and speed is being used now it just popped into my head. Maybe it's the pain pills and Jameson though.

In short, ND/Texas battle with Stanford as the wildcard. A&M is basically out, at least for now. He likes ND's chances.

Question for Scout guys, apparently he told Scout that he was supposed to be a package deal with somebody that is announcing at the UA game, obviously not the case anymore, but any idea who that was?

We literally have the same player ranking on our team. Number 5 inside linebacker according to rivals in the country 2 years ago Nyles Morgan and he can't sniff the field. Why does it matter? BVG is going to play who BVG needs to run his defense.

Who cares what their ranking is once they are playing in college. Obviously Morgan hasn't shown yet he's up to the job. I expect that to change next season. It'll be his time to handle the position. But coaches are going to play the players they think give them the best chance to win. Even if fans don't think so.

Ok. So you're telling me that you don't care what JM's ranking is?

I can only speak for myself but I just care that he looks like a really good football player. Now, I understand your point and frustration with BVG, but that doesn't mean I want to stop recruiting these types of players.

You can't stop recruiting these type of players. You can get something of an assessment on a kids mental prowess looking at his grades, but until they are in the system there's no way to know how quickly they can grasp BVG's system. I expect Morgan will be in the middle next year.

Not to put all one's stock into what the recruiting pundits say, but you'd prefer McCulloch over Kelly even though Kelly is higher rated in ALL recruiting services? Just curious, as both appear to be very good athletes, is it potential upside between the two or what for your choice of taking McCulloch?

per loy---ND/TEXAS battle...he has a bunch of texas commits pulling him towards texas..bama doesn't really pose a threat......his mom and charlie strong have a good relationship...WAS going to visit ND a 2nd time but doesn't feel the need because he is THAT HIGH ON ND

he feels
1.ND
2. TEXAS
3. STANFORD--HASN'T BEEN CLEARED FOR ADMISSIONS

NOT A TAKE FOR BAMA RIGHT NOW

That ranking sounds great, except that all the details above sound like Texas in the end. We'll see.

Could you imagine getting McColloch and Davis in one recruiting cycle? With the LB haul we got last year oh boy. Trying to hold the excitement to a reasonable level...

Could you be imagine being so loaded at linebacker that McCullough is not a take?

With the news of the staff saying they wouldn't accept his commitment with him taking more visits if he wanted to Commit, and someone claiming that we have two silents. You gotta figure we are done with DB recruiting. That leaves the only two logical choices for silents as being Javon Mckinley and Caleb Kelly.

You are correct but somehow still managed to be wrong. McKinley and Jones
