The fact that it was an agent and not a booster is critical. At the very worst, USC will have to forfeit games that Bush played in beginning w/ when he 1st received gifts/$. If it goes back to '04, that means their NC would be at risk. Most importantly for Carroll & co., they won't get any future ramifications (TV ban, bowl ban, scholarship loss). No way the NCAA will ban SC from tv, much less a postseason. The NCAA are now deeply in bed w/ the TV networks, so no way they get a TV ban/Bowl ban...way too much lost revenue. Hell, if USC didn't get slapped in the '60s & '70's, do you really expect them to get hammered now? Those SOBs took paycuts when they went to the NFL back in the day. They are teflon. If this was ND, it would be a feeding frenzy. Since it's USC, half the media are making Bush out to be a martyr & the other half are saying that it's an isolated incident & Carroll & the Trojans shouldn't suffer for the wrongdoing of one player & one agent. Gimme a break...Carroll & staff visited the home of Bush when recruiting him. They could tell his parents weren't exactly living the high life. Carroll or the staff had to wonder how his parents were affording airfare to every away game (incl. South Bend). Even if the NCAA takes a few scholies, they're so loaded w/ talent that it wouldn't make a dent. Finally, w/ this latest scandal, why no mention of the need for an investigation into the entire program? Isn't there now enough precedence when you factor in the Dwayne Jarrett no-rent housing situation? Again, if this were to happen in South Bend....

Technically Jarrett didn't get free rent, he paid the same amount that Leinart was paying per month, but LEinart's dad was paying the rest for both, it was a forgivable mistake. However, Bush should give his Heisman back, and if he was ineligible during 04 USC will have to return the NC. In addition, they should be forced to stop claiming rights to the championship in 03 that they didn't even play for. If Bush did take gifts, and a coach, any coach employed by the university knew about it, then sanctions will be put on the university by the NCAA, I think this is the case for all such instances, including instances with boosters. If Bush's parents were truly living in a $250,000 house, I find it hard to believe that nobody noticed. Seriously, one minute their in a low income housing project, the next they're ina $250,000 house, someone had to notice. I find it hard to believe that the coaching staff was THAT IGNORANT. Maybe Petey should stop hanging with Will Ferrell and start monitoring his players.

Still, if it had been, say, Samardzija getting reduced rent in South Bend, ND would've been obliterated in the press. USC won't suffer any penalties w/ teeth.

Your first sentence is absolutely false because it will come back to the RB coach knowing about the infractions. Look at NCAA bylaw2.1.1 and 2.1.2. IF an administrator or coach knows of extra benefits and does not report them they will recieve NCAA sanctions, IE schollies gone etc. There are sourceS that gave info. to the reporter from yahoo sports that originally broke this story, the USC RB coach knew all about this whole deal with Reggie and his family. This will all come out in the end. It will take some time but once the law suit between the bush family and the agent is over the NCAA will then step in and use that evidence against USC. Trust me this one is not blowing over it will just take a year or so to be in place.

I wouldn't go throwing the word "absolutely" around just yet. If the dude from Yahoo or any source for that matter can present proof that the RB coach had knowledge of these transactions, then you are correct. Otherwise, Bush may lose a trophy & USC may lose a NC, but it's the future that matters to Carroll (& that shouldn't be affected) b/c he knows he's quickly in line for another NC.

Irishdodger goto yahoo sports and watch the video interview with Mr. Richardson. I believe that is his name. He is the writer that broke this story. He says the SOURCES will be interviewed by the NCAA when the bush's lawsuit is over and the NCAA starts thier investigation rolling. This will absolutely come out about the RB coach's knowledge of the extra benefits.

I hope you're right...but don't hold your breath. We're talking USC in 2007, not SMU in the mid-80s or Auburn in the early '90s.

Dude, you're mixing the $ amounts.....the house was $750K not $250K. And, btw even Reggie didn't the change in living standards....somehow:

Reg: Mom, nice place, but why don't you have any furniture in this room?
Mom: Son, that's the closet!

There were numerous Reggie Bush threads on IE, didn't feel like making another, so I'm bumping this one:

Reggie Bush Paid Mistress $3 Million To Get An Abortion But Now She's 6 Months Pregnant

According to reports, Reggie Bush tried to pay his mistress $3 million to get an abortion. In fact, he did pay 34-year old cocktail waitress Monique Exposito the agreed upon amount, but she never got the abortion and is now six months pregnant with his kid.

As it turns out, Exposito originally tried to get pregnant by her former lover, Alonzo Mourning, going as far as to take fertility treatments to boost her chances of conceiving but it was Bush that ultimately got caught up in her scheme.

According to the report:

Exposito, 34, originally hatched a plan to get pregnant by her alleged lover of four years, retired Miami Heat player Alonzo Mourning – even getting fertility treatments to boost her chances of conceiving. During their relationship, the baller allegedly lavished gifts on the mother of one, made sure she was front row at his Miami Heat games and accompanied him on trips to New York City, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

“She wants to be like one of the Kardashians,” the source explained. “Marry a black man, and get all the money.”
Reggie gave millions to Exposito in exchange for her silence as well as the abortion, and he and his wife believed she would go through with it, but that's far from the case.

Exposito is reportedly planning a lavish baby shower for their child which will be born in the winter, and is already shopping for a new home on the water in Miami.

This dude...wow. She sounds like a real winner too.

She's got a little Jenner in her. And I don't mean Kylie or Kendall...
