The big kid in me requested a day off for FIFAs yearly release... Just got done with a giant carne asana burrito... Now diving into Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA

Thoughts? Had you had it before? (Had my first last week and liked it a lot.)

Finally found some Fresh Squeezed IPA in a bottle and had one the other day. Tonight, having a Jai Alai IPA from Cigar City (gifted to me from an acquaintance).

Yes sir. The Jai Alai was the first beer I've had from CC but I do have two other beers that were given to me, Maduro Brown Ale and Florida Cracker. Wish I could get more but wont be looking this gift horse in the mouth! BTW, really liked Jai Alai.

Tonight, having Gulden Draak 10.5 Brewmaster Edition. Aged 1.5 years in whiskey barrels. Really lightens the color of the beer and sweetens the beer, not like a sour but much different than a belgian dark ale.

Also PKT, got myself some Laphroaig 10 yr today. Cant wait to break it out.

Let me know what you think once you open it. It is an interesting whisky to me and I enjoy it a lot but I know some people who don't like it as well.

Next up for me is Bell's Neptune. Then maybe some whisky.

What did everyone think of Bell's Neptune?

This is one crazy beer.

For those that don't know it has
SPICES: Star anise, dried cayenne, raisins, dates, black pepper, hickory bark, dandelion root, nutmeg, grains of paradise, fenugreek seeds and dates

Also brewed with maple syrup, molasses and cane sugar in addition to hops and malt.

My thoughts
N: Licorice (star anise), a little chocolate, pepper and
P: Big licorice (star anise again), cocoa, pepper, maple syrup, and just a little raisin and date.
F: Starts on slightly sweet cocoa then black pepper and then a good kick of cayenne pepper on the finish. The cayenne lingers for a little bit.

Overall an interesting beer, but if feels very discombobulated.

The smell and taste are very distinct. I like it a lot but I think i understand why some wouldn't.

Odell Myrcenary DIPA. A great juicy DIPA. Lots of Pineapple with some other tropical and citrus fruits. A little bitter but by no means a super bitter DIPA.
