How is Jurrasic 5 overall? I've thought about checking them out, but the only thing I've really heard from them is that Golden song on the radio.

Well, oviously I'm biased since I have it in my Jeep. But, it's a great album. Came out in 2000 and even then I thought it reminded me of rap from the late 80s. Honestly, I haven't heard much of their new stuff. I don't watch any of the music video channels and my radio is usally on an alternative station. Most of the rap/hip hop I listen to I stumble onto by coincidence. Showing my age, one of my favorite rap albums is The Chronic.

Spent some time in France, and am currently listening to a great cabaret disc by Paris Combo - the album name is Living Room. Check it out on Amazon if you like jazz and great dinner party music.

Quality Control is a great album. I think Power In Numbers is also qulaity. Their new album, Feedback, I find to be not nearly as good as prior work. If you can find it thier EP, it is also excellent. I would check for it overseas, the US version was pulled and rereleased without some of the music due to copyright issues, and hence is shorter and not as good. Some of the albums from DJ Numark and Cut Chemist, thier DJs, are also worth checking out if you enjoy DJ albums. Chali 2na has also released some solo work but it is not as enjoyable as the J5 crew work. 2na also pops up every once and a while on other artist's album such as Roots Manuva's Run Come Same Me, which is an excellent album. It is one of the best foreign hip-hop albums. If you are looking for another good crew album, I would check out Hieroglyphics' Full Circle. It is Del the Funky Homosapien's crew, whom you might know from the Gorillazs.
