i've been an orioles fan my whole life, but i used to support the montreal expos because they were so close to me. i guess that was my national league team. i miss them. the big O wasn't the greatest ballpark...it sucked actually, but it was sweet sitting close to the field because of the ticket prices.

oriole park at camden yards in baltimore is a great park. i've been to that one more than any other one and i think it's sweeter every time i go there.

Was also a big Expos fan...and agree that the 'O' was a terrible stadium. However, the atmosphere was actually pretty good there when the team was drawing well (unfortunately the fairweather fans meant crowds of 5K when the team was not contending); nothing like the noise level picking-up, and having those huge concrete slabs start shaking.

Guess you were from upstate??

DP and Oberman were talking about the Expos today... I always thought it was so sad how BOTH teams north of the border got reemed by the 94 strike... The spos were one of the leagues biggest success stories for a couple of decades... then came the strike...

That strike broke my heart, and absolutely KILLED the Expos. I think that was the final act that finally doomed the franchise. It is also why I always look at the Braves NL East run with a huge ***asterisk***, 'cause the Spos had them buried in '94.

Now I cheer for two teams:

Anaheim....'cause of Vlad

Washington....for legacy reasons

Where's "Tailgunner Joe" when we need him?

People that don't care about baseball tend to be Red Sox fans.

They're so accustomed to mediocrity.

From the folks who have recored more Boston Massacres than the British.
