Get on the bandwagon now.

1st Team AP All State as a Sophomore along with Mykelti Williams

US Army All-Combine Team

113 Tackles... 103 Solo... 2 INT... 2 TD

Had 15 tackles against St. Xavier (OH)

This guy has to have a wrestling background... he shoots a double leg on every tackle. He is also put together for a sophomore. He's actually put together for a senior but he's freakish for a 10th grader.

I'm CB'ing now. Loy and Wiltfong can jump on the bandwagon when they do their homework!

Same HS as Kenny Barlow and Scotty Hicks too. Cathedral and ND both descend from the Congregation or the Holy Cross so the Sisters down there should be guiding the young souls to South Bend!

Man, watching that highlight tape, he reminded me a lot of Tranquill. The kid makes great reads and is aggressive in attacking the runner or the ball in the air.

He looks like a high school Bob Sanders the way he diagnoses then explodes through the ball carrier. My only fear is that he looks like he's playing some really poor teams. I didn't see very many fast kids and he didn't look that much faster than any of them.

The only scary thing is he looks like the guy that goes to BC or Purdue and then racks up accolades because he continues to develop even though he looks maxed out.

He isn't playing poor competition. Cathedral plays the best schedule for their class in IN year after year.

6A is the best class in IN and they play a lot of them. I'm kind of surprised not to see Warren (Sheldon Day) on next year's schedule. Travel to OH to play some of their best. Chatard (Martin brothers) is by far the best program in 4A. I don't know anything about the team out of Tennessee. Brebeuf isn't that great.

Confirmed that he does indeed wrestle. Competes at 182. Went 16-4 this year and lost to the eventual winner of Semi-State 3-1. It looks like he gave the winner his toughest test of the Semi-State.

Last year as the eventual 5A state champ they played:

Ben Davis - 6A Champ - #1 Indiana (Asmar Bilal)

Warren Central - #3 in Indiana (Mykelti Williams) ...Sheldon Day '12

Bishop Chatard - #21 in Indiana ...Martin Brothers

St. Xavier (OH) - #6 in Ohio (Justin Hilliard)

Trinity (KY) - #1 Kentucky

Bishop Dwenger - #72 in Indiana

Hamilton SE - #25 in Indiana

Center Grove - #4 in Indiana

Bloomington South - #9 in Indiana

LaPorte - #26 in Indiana - 5A Championship game... 56-7

He isn't playing poor competition. Cathedral plays the best schedule for their class in IN year after year.

They have to move up to 6A for the playoffs next year. It will be interesting to see how they do. They didn't do well against Ben Davis and Warren Central last year but they were both loaded. Cathedral is a young team.

Rhea Co was the #2 team in 5A (out of 6A and ranked #16 overall at 12-1)

Mishawaka was undefeated and finally got past Penn last year but lost to Valpo in the playoffs before going downstate.

Bishop Chatard is getting moved down to 3A which sucks if you are a 3A program though Tri-West Hendricks was rocking last year as was New Paestine in 4A.

Cathedral has it's work cut out it next year.

Competes at 182... that's good. It's likely he's a legit 190 walk around.

He is probably on target to be an OLB in 4 years. 182 wrestling weight as a 10th grader sounds like a college LB to me. That's ok as long as he blows up plays like he does on that tape. Reminded me of Michael Stonebreaker. (goosebumps)

Doesn't it seem like there is a noticeable difference in team speed between his highlights and some of the others we often see? Take any of the top 20 safeties and watch their highlights, they all invariably have the speed to pull away from the competition, he doesn't appear to do that. It just looks like a bunch of really slow players on the field, maybe the highlight tape is deceiving.

Rather than care about how his team fared, I'd like to know how he performed against the better schools on their schedule? Did he hit his averages for the season, did he rise to the occasion and play better or was he limited?

Well they won 56 -7 in last year's state title game. But overall was 9-5 playing that super tough schedule. If they move from 5 to 6A next year they'll have a hard time I think.

6A is pretty much dominated by sides of town in Indy. Ben Davis west side, Carmel north side, Warren on the east side and Center Grove south. Every now and then Fishers or Hamilton Southeast will poke their head in. Then there are those northern folks who preach Penn...but they get their ass whooped every time they play someone in Hamilton county south.

11 tackles against Ben Davis. 1st game of the season. Ben Davis was the 6A (top class) champion in Indiana, ranked in Top 20 nationally by USA Today and MaxPreps.

15 tackles against Cincinnati St. Xavier. St. X was the #6 team in the final poll in Div I... (top class)

I agree that his top end speed did not look impressive on that tape. What did look impressive were the angles / routes he took at full speed to intercept the runner and the utter lack of hesitation in his read/react. His spatial cognition is off the charts. He'd make a hell of a fighter pilot.

I think this calls for 3 minutes and 22 seconds of the greatest highlights in Notre Dame history. Pay close attention at 2:15 to see what the gift of spatial cognition and wrapping up the carriers legs can do for a slow defender. My favorite play in Irish history.

I'll say this, if someone could "only" guarantee me that Ben would be like Mike Anello, I'd take it in a heartbeat. We need a special teams gunner.

Solid football team but they should handle them easily. Probably not a division 1 player on the team at any level of Division 1. They are coached by Mark Pemberton who won a TN State Championship as Harrison Smiths head coach at Knoxville Catholic.

Been a while since I checked in on Stewart. He's added a handful of MAC offers and still has the B1G teams interested. Elston was down to see him, Ekiyor, Werner and Steppe last week.

Stewart currently is the #2 wrestler at 195.

He mentions going out to see the Ivy's this summer. He has a 4.26 GPA. That would make a sweet PWO if nothing else.

Here's a freebie from Scout:
