Per Rivals, he wants to visit OSU and ND pretty soon. Is on pace to be an EE. Has already been to NC state and Duke. Is hearing from TCU, UF, and Stanford.

Looks like grades shouldn't be a concern. Three stars seems low given his offers from ND, OSU, LSU, Tenn, etc.

Not overly impressed with Hammond.

I thought he had good ball skills...I liked how he goes up after the ball. A few clips of him running tight patterns and a few of him blocking down field. At times he didn't look dominant after he caught the ball in traffic. Curious why weren't you impressed with him?

For me its more in comparison to others we have legitimate chances with. Ex. Donnie Corley or Hammond? Corley blows him out of the water, IMO. With us only taking 2 WR's, most likely, I want to be a little picky. Good prospect and most cycles I'd be ok with it, if we were looking at 3-4 WR's.

Also, I don't agree he has good ball skills. Keeping in mind that these are highlights and they aren't going to show drops, he's not a natural hands catcher. Look at how many times he cradles the ball/hands underneath even on throws at his numbers. You've probably heard this before but never let the ball get to your body. Sometimes, it just happens but you'd think a highlight film would have a lot less of that.

Yes. His brother went to Florida, which makes the Gators the team to beat IMO.

I've been slacking this year and am not familiar with Donnie Corley. I'm not to concerned that he let's the ball get into his body, that is something he can work on. I saw enough of him plucking the ball on his film to not have me worried. What I like is he was able to take a short pass to the house (speed), able to get jump balls, able to go over the middle (toughness), able to break tackles and hustle where he ran the DB down on an interception.

Edit: Reviewed Corley's tape. First I watched the Hudl video on his profile post, I was like "WTF are these people talking about, i don't see anything on that tape." Then I watched his junior highlight tape and it all made sense. Yes, Corley is a stud and would want him as a WR or Safety.

We'll have to agree to disagree as I see a good prospect but not one that is must have. Plenty of WR's better and I think we'll land 2 that I like much better. I see far too many times that his momentum or progress is stopped because he doesn't catch the ball away from his body. Yes, that can be worked on but the more things a kid needs to work on the less I'm going to want him as a prospect. For a WR, catching the ball away from your body is near the top of the list for me.

Also, just consider that this is a highlight tape and not game film. When watching highlight films you need to be overly critical as they are only showing you the good/really good plays. These are usually physically superior prospects (speed, athleticism, size, etc.) so I tend to look for bad habits that more than likely turn into mistakes on game film.

Scout analyst chimed in yesterday that his opinion Hammond does things well but isn't elite at anything, high 3 star.
