Apparently winning the ACC only counts if you are Duke. I would like to know which committee members kocks Coach K wraps his tiny little mouth around.

Absolutely hilarious how much of an easier road 10-loss Oklahoma got to the final four.

Why is that? Because they wouldn't see Kentucky?

They beat Texas twice. And for me, as ND, I'd much rather see Butler than Providence again.

Also, I think we match up with Kansas much better than we do UVA.

Yea, we're in Kentucky's bracket, but if I had VBucks, I'd say Oklahoma is sent packing by the weekend (I think Providence will get them).

That's the main point, though. Villanova is probably not even going to make it to the elite 8. So really you're talking about UVA vs Kentucky and I don't think that's even close. And I disagree strongly that Butler is a better matchup than Providence.

If ND makes it to the 2nd weekend I may be able to get up to Cleveland. The only positive to being in the Midwest.

Baylor also got a better draw as a #3 seed. This committee sucks my balls.

I think the West region is as rough as the Midwest. I think the East and South are comical.

If we advance, I am scared to death of Texas. Moreso than Butler. That is the really bad part of the draw. Worry about Kentucky if and when the time comes.

Villanova is very good. UVA with a healthy Anderson is ridiculously good.

We could go back and forth on Providence/Butler, but if you'd like to expand on that, I'd love to hear it. The major physical traits we struggle against, Providence has. Butler does not.

If your argument is they would have an easier Elite 8 game, ok. We agree. But path? I just don't see it.

Rough way to look at it...

1 seeds: Kentucky>Duke=Wisconsin>Villanova.
2 seeds: Arizona=UVA=Gonzaga>Kansas.
3 seeds: ND>Iowa State>Baylor>Oklahoma
4 seeds: UNC>Maryland>Louisville>Georgetown

So... Midwest has 1,4,1,2 = 8
West has 2.5, 2, 3, 1 = 8.5
East has 4, 2, 4, 3 = 13
South has 2.5, 2, 2, 4 = 10.5

That's pretty terrible balance. And the committee chair sounded like an utter buffoon in his rationale. Bunch of non-answers.

I just want to make the 2nd weekend and take our chances there. If we play the way we have been playing and don't get tight, we should make a nice run.

It's almost as if they sat down deliberately thought about how easy they could make it for Duke. Literally they only team on that half of the Bracket I could see beating them is Utah, and even then they'd have to have a career shooting night.

Well, here's my thought process. First, I should clarify that part of my fear is that it doesn't matter who wins, the game will be tough. Butler because it's two schools in Indiana and Butler has a culture of March success. Texas because Texas has played some VERY good teams VERY tough and I don't see any way that wouldn't be a nail biter.

Providence had a miraculous effort against a worse ND team and won by 1 earlier this year. Boise State and Dayton are not close to as good as Texas, IMO. So you have 1 known quantity that I wouldn't be afraid of and an unknown quantity that I think is substantially worse than Texas.

We were rated worse than a 10-loss Oklahoma team. Wrap your brains around that. This is the worst job I've seen the committee do in a very, very long time... and I'm not just talking relative to ND. That's "meh"... I'm talking in general, I think they did a pathetic job of seeding.

All this shows me is their minds were made up even before the ACC tournament. They obviously cared about how bad ND's non conference schedule was but shouldn't that come more into play when it comes down to getting into the tournament not after finishing third in the ACC and winning the tournament. This committee fvcking sucks.

Honestly, the committee must've purposely made things as difficult as possible for ND (and Kentucky for that matter). Simply put, we need to win these first two games. After that, we can take a Sweet 16 appearance as a great season. Anything beyond that is icing on the cake.
