LOLWUT? That doesn't make sense in the context of what I said. I'm not blaming anyone.

Any Colts fans know what to make of the Irsay tweets he sent out today about this incident? I know he's a bit of a wild card, so wasn't really sure what to make of them. The timing of them is just odd.

As long as Kam Chancellor knocks Tom Brady's teeth out next Sunday I don't care. But the NFL looks like its going to rig it the Patriots way.

It is pretty hilarious from our perspective that people think the NFL likes the Patriots. From where we are sitting, it seems pretty clear the league is very anti-Patriot and Belichick and the football operation is pretty anti-league. It seems that this is in large part what has driven the absurdity of the last week. Kraft and Goodell do have a good personal relationship, but I think people outside of NE probably do not realize that Kraft's allegiance is first to the league and second to the Patriots, and that has bothered people here for some time. He did not fight for Bill during the league's mishandling of spygate, and if the NFL wants to hammer Bill over ballghazi (and they absolutely will if they can justify it in any way), Kraft will 100% support it and not fight the league over it.

The premise that the Colts balls were checked and within range is based on the radio comments of a retired referee who was expressing what kinda sorta should have happened to the best of his recollection... maybe. How the hell would he know?

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 using Tapatalk.

What would be his motivation for making this up? Because he's retired he might be able to recollect? Age doesn't automatically = loss of memory. Plus, he has to have much better insight on procedures than you or I.

Don't follow Irsay. What did he say?

I think you're wrong about the perception of Kraft outside of the NE fan base. Most people I know don't have a bad thing to say about Kraft. Not during Spygate, union talks or now. I personally don't have a problem with him and think he's a decent owner. He has his flaws, but they all do.

According to both Jay Glazer at Fox and Dan Wetzel at Yahoo, their sources said that the NFL decided to try and catch the Patriots in the act at halftime (as they had prior complaints) as opposed to just warning the team about it. Doesn't exactly sound like a cozy relationship between the NFL and the Patriots.

I'm sure this equipment guy did this all on his own. No influence right? He'll be the fall guy. The video shows him taking the balls to a separate place.

Of course the NFL was going to counter Belichick's presser. I'm going to wait on making judgments based on info leaked from the League because so far they've leaked conflicting reports on the PSI of the footballs, most of the info they leaked on the Ray Rice thing was either wrong or later contradicted by other leaked info, and there are lots of people in the League office, not all of whom have equal access to info and who all have their own agendas.

Accepting that my former favorite baseball player cheated was hard for me. I know how you Pats fans are feeling.

This. I'm in wait-and-see mode. ESPN reported one thing about the PSI, then NBC reported something completely different. There were reports that said D'Qwell Jackson thought the ball felt underinflated. Then he said something different. No one knows if these complaints originated with the Colts or the Ravens. Too many conflicting sources out there. I liked Belichick's presser, who's scientific reasoning has been backed up by many third-party scientists and groups. Although I did like Bill Nye using balloons with laces drawn on them to disprove Belichick and then saying "Go Seahawks."

Much backpedal. Such egg on face. Lol

I would be very surprised if they ever backpedal an inch, even if indisputable evidence comes out against them. You don't take the position they've taken then not fight to the death. Those were all-in moves they made.

I agree they were all in moves but if they have indisputable evidence...." Brady and Bill...Thou doth protest too damn much." Some amount of conciliation will be required publicly by the Patriots. They won't be able to to not comment on it if it is true.

Now Kraft is reported saying he expects an apology soon from the NFL. And then another report says the NFL didn't remind the Pats of the rules, but rather set up a sting operation to catch them.

I agree that the NFL has a history or goofing up, but it's not looking very good at the moment.

I mean....now that Kraft has pushed all of his chips into the middle of the table (and that dude has A LOT of chips) I just think there is no way the Patriots could be doing this if the NFL has anything on them. It just isn't human nature. Maybe deny it, but to go to this extent? What would be the point if you thought there was any chance they could get you?

I will say this: if they are caught on video or something tampering with the balls after all this, there is almost no way I can go on being a fan of the team. I hate to say that, but seriously. How could you just flat out lie like this? I think too many Patriots fans feel that way for Kraft to go along with this unless he is sure. He has billions of his dollars on the line with this franchise.

This is either a power play to get the league to back off, or it is a full on dare to the league to come after them with their best shot. If the league comes at them, it could cost Brady his legacy, Belichick his career and Kraft a good part of his fortune. On the other hand, in the words of the late great Omar, if you come at the King you best not miss. If Goodell goes after the Patriots hard now and comes up empty, he can kiss the easiest and best job in the world goodbye. Kraft is his primary benefactor and maybe the only reason he is still the commissioner. My biggest concern in this before today was that Kraft would side with the league over his coach and QB if the league had them dead to rights.

If the Pats security tapes they are talking about aren't available there will be more questions.
