Honestly, the first year after our first child was the toughest. More stress+less time for each other can make it rough.

The second time around, we knew what to expect but with two in diapers, there is no "us time."

This is 10000% true. The years before we had our son were great, but this first year has been rough, its getting better though. I wouldn't change anything though. Love being a dad.

If you are in your first year with the tyke, the best is coming. And very soon. It's great fun to watch their personalities blossom and to watch with amazement as they learn even the simplest things.

actually.... my first 12 months wasn't bad at all.

my wife and i dated for 3 months before we were engaged.... we were married 7 months later. i think the 7 months leading up to the wedding were the hardest. you are trying to mold two separate personalities into one unit.... it is difficult -- you just have to be willing to compromise.
