Lol, case and point. Colin Cowterd on his morning football show.... in an awful demeanor after air humping the SEC games, "I like Golson and BK, but IDK about the rest of the team".

LOL, have you seen our defense?

I don't consider Cowherd an ESPN voice. He's just some idiot who is on an ESPN network. He favors the Pac-12 over the SEC since he's from the West Coast.

I'm as anti-CFBconspiracy as anyone, but it's obvious that ESPN is biased towards the SEC. Any college basketball fan saw how ESPN shaped the conferences by playing favorites. They do the same thing in college football.

I watched the highlights of the ND Stanford game on SC this morning. There were 10 plays, 7 of them were negative plays for ND, if that's not bias I don't know what is. I mean we won the freaking game.

I literally said "It's obvious that ESPN is biased towards the SEC".

but you also say I have crazy victim syndrome for saying I wouldn't be shocked if we get screwed by the same bias in the polls? I'm crazy confused.

Bias doesn't matter anymore at this point...unless you're debating team 4 from 5. I'm bias to the neighbor's wife, don't tell my old lady. Still, ND is undefeated heading to UNC. And then FSU is going to be "the biggest game of the year".

Wizard and Title 2114 must be spouses, brothers, or something.

If you have any doubts about ESPN SEC homerism.... check out the "Four In" and next 4. We are 7th... and 3 of 4 Heisman frontrunners are SEC.

Chaos wins Week 6 in college football as playoff contenders were upset - ESPN

Fuck ESPN. They do have a right to their opinions. Its nice to see the respect you deserve reflected in rankings. But wake me up when they decide the playoff participants. They don't

To be fair, there weren't a whole lot of positive highlights for us. The D played phenomenal, but we couldn't run well, we dropped a lot of passes, and turned it over a few times.

The difference could be huge between 4 and 5 come end of the year. That bias could screw a team like ND. Just saying.

Biggest game of the year until two weeks later with Auburn plays Ole Miss LOL.

Where ND actually ends up in the poles starts to matter here real soon. Indeed they still have their destiny in their hands...but to think this team will go undefeated...I doubt it, so then will ND have the staying power with one loss (assuming its a squeaker)...NO.

Look I get the arguments about teams who are perennial top 10s ...it takes a lot for them to fall...so then someone fvcking explain to me how the Mississippi teams can Rocket up that fast.

See, there is absolutely an SEC bias...which is total BS...

I can fathom an Alabama bias that has them hard to drive out of the top 5, same with LSU, and Auburn is getting there...but just watch the conference good will the Mississippi teams get...NUTS.

My issue is, ND's schedule is ALWAYS ranked among the toughest...but no love for that.

Wake me up when the most prominent sports broadcaster doesn't impact the minds of voters who do.

To be fair, you are right it was an ugly game. But to also be fair, the conditions were horrible, and we were an underdog going in. And we completed a late drive against a top ranked D to win it.

Yeah there may not have been that many highlights but if you were to list the 10 best/most important plays you'd find that we should have at least half of those:

1) Golson to Koyack.. Duh
2) SU Rushing TD to go ahead 14-10
3) Brindza's kick to put us up 10-7
4) Hogan's TD
5) Golson to Brown for the TD
Now is where the judgment calls come in, but that is already 3 Pro-ND plays, so there is no way the remaining 5 highlights should be pro-SU, especially with ND winning the game. There were too many important ND plays, like Luke's pick in SU territory or the intentional grounding on Hogan. Really, whenever I've seen highlights from a game where a team has a go-ahead score in the final few minutes and SC will show a key play or two from the drive and the score itself.

He probably didn't even watch the game yesterday. It's easy to say that you like BK and Golson cause their the two most popular faces in the team. If he actually watched the game, I'm sure he would mention guys like Smith, Riggs, Jones, Day, etc.

He's a Pac 12 guy and doesn't know much about college football outside the Pac 12, IMO

I agree they have SEC bias. But I don't see how their rankings matter to the playoff picture.

My issue too. But, I think or at least from my understanding, this new "pannel" system eliminates that.

Like I said, it'll be a battle of one loss teams. The undefeateds have nothing to worry about. And we play number 1 on the road in two weeks.

I think we get jumped by Ole Miss but still move up.

It would not shock me if we get screwed and only move up 1. The pessimist in me thinks both Miss teams jump us, UCLA jumps us in the Coaches poll, and Bama only falls to 6 or 7.

I hope I'm wrong.

Agee, Ole Miss makes that leap. Bama won't get dinged too hard because they are Bama and they got beat by an SEC team. Oregon should get hit hard as will A&M.

That's the problem though in many ways they really do because they control perception. If you don't think people on the committee are in any way persuaded by what ESPN puts out your kidding yourself. Having said that if we win out I believe we're fine and only five games in I shouldn't be worried about ESPN's bias but if we only have one close lose is where we get screwed. Anyway let's just beat NC first. Haha

Does Willingham on the committee help or hurt us? Serious question, not sure how he feels about ND.

Who's the ND homer? Condaleeza? The same woman that has consistently considered herself a Stanford grad and football fan? She certainly doesn't have negative feelings towards her undergrad alma mater (that I know of), but she certainly considers herself a Stanford grad first and foremost.

Ty farqing hates us.

Haden runs the program of our biggest rival.

The only person I would consider on our side is Alvarez, because of his history with Notre Dame and no alliance to the SEC. Overall... I don't like the setup of the committee.

We all watch ESPN an don't share their bias. I don't believe anyone was arguing who does and doesn't watch it. I guess I'm naive to assume the members of the committee are above being swayed by ESPN having us at 5/6 at one point as opposed to 4, where we think we should be.

There's no way these people see all the games. Where else could they catch all the highlights in a short period and get on with the rest of their day?

Yup, I think the members of the committee are more of an issue than where ESPN ranks us

Yes, but we are all ND homers. Proud ND homers. Media does impact brains. Wish you could walk through my office an listen to non-football people talk about the SEC, simply regurgitating what they see on ESPN.

Right behind the post office off Southeastern. Pick the right day and "she'll be working in the yard". Nice fat ass. ;)
