Daniel Cage's "little" brother.

Jerron Cage, SO, DL – With good genes and pedigree (brother Daniel playing at Notre Dame), Cage seems destined for big things. Despite having never played a full varsity game the 6-feet-3, 255-pound Cage already has offers from UC, Illinois and Kentucky.

I figured I would be the first one to say it. I posted on my phone and don't have italics. It was implied.

You can edit with font change...but just didn't understand the reasoning. ...thought maybe I missed something about a commitment or msu offer...the 4day bump also had me confused

Cincinnati (Ohio) Winton Woods sophomore defensive lineman Jerron Cage holds early offers from Cincinnati, Illinois and Kentucky.

Ready to compete in Friday's U.S. Army National Combine, Michigan State and Notre Dame are two scholarships he'd like to add at some point.

Cage's older brother Daniel is a freshman defensive lineman at Notre Dame. The Irish would certainly be a finalist if they offered.

"I've been there a lot," Cage said. "I like that they're a family, how they all come together after the games. I'm cool with all the players and it's nice environment to go to."

Cage's brother nearly chose Michigan State, and he is high on the Spartans for the same reasons.

"I've been around them a lot," Cage said. "Every time I go up there everybody is about family and getting the job done. They show me it's not easy to get where they are. You have to work for it."

At this point, Cage said he does not have any future visits planned.

IMO we have the easy lead now, but will depend on his big bro's PT and performance moving forward.

Between St. Brown and Cage, the family connections could work out big for us in 2017.

Between St Brown, cage, okwara and Jones maybe we won't need a staff that can recruit worth a lick. Which is good because it looks like that is what we are going to get.

How good is he? I know it's early, but mostly second-tier local offers at this point. Doesn't appear to have much of a profile on 247.
I'd assume we won't offer unless we really want him, though, and we'll surely know what he can do. So I guess an offer from us would speak for itself.

He may be a better offensive lineman, right now. He looked like an upperclassman at center. But the kid is quick, and stronger than a bear.

he was an honorable mention this year for us army all american combine team

-SAN ANTONIO – 247Sports has compiled the U.S. Army All-American All-Combine Team from Friday’s National Combine. While the event was loaded with talent, this list is based strictly on the performances from Friday.

-Jerron Cage, Cincinnati (Ohio) Winton Woods (Class of 2017): Quick, strong and polished 2017 defensive lineman that will have a chance to be highly recruited.

Seriously, not that long ago, who would have thought that ND and MSU would battle for the same recruits and be considered to be on somewhat equal footing?

Much like his older brother Daniel, sophomore defensive lineman Jerron Cage of Cincinnati (Ohio) Winton Woods will have options when it comes to choosing a college. Perhaps even more.
With Daniel a freshman at Notre Dame, Cage has gotten a head start in developing a relationship with the Irish staff.
“I talk with Notre Dame all of the time,” Cage said. “I feel really comfortable there. Notre Dame is a really nice place. Coach (Mike) Elston is just a funny guy. He’s cool.”
Despite the perceived recruiting advantage in Notre Dame’s court, Cage says he receives no pressure from his brother to eventually follow in his footsteps.
“It was a good thing watching each coach gravitate towards Daniel and seeing him grow through the process,” Cage said. “He leaves me short telling me about Notre Dame so I make my own decision. I know he really likes it, though, and it was really cool seeing him play as a freshman.”

Cincinnati, Kentucky and Illinois have offered Cage, and along with Notre Dame, he’s received interest from Michigan State and Ohio State.
“Education will be the main thing for me,” Cage said. “And, if I feel like it’s good for me and I can succeed there.”
The 6-foot-3, 250-pound lineman can play inside or outside on the line.
“My get off is really good,” Cage said. “If I accomplish that, I’m going to make the play.”

He has a full 2 years of high school left. How many 2017 recruits has ND even offered? St Brown but who else. There are tons of 2016 recruits ND has yet to offer and likely will before they start to offer more 2017 kids.

Lets wait until ND gets their second commitment in the 2016 class before we start worrying about why kids haven't been offered yet in 2017.

Or we can wait until its too late and he can commit to someone else. Whats the issue with getting him to commit now and not having to worry about it later?

Because maybe there are kids higher on ND's board than him. No need to rush it. Kid can't sign for two more years.
