Loved the show, loved the ending. Anarchy Afterword was awful, every single time. I don't understand why they didn't just copy the Talking Dead set up. I think the "smugness" of Jimmy Smits is really that he is a weird dude that is very uncomfortable in that setting, I saw the cast on Conan and he and Drea De Matteo were very awkward and uncomfortable.
Spoilers below for anyone who hasn't seen the show, or the finale.....
I don't know how else it could have ended. I have heard some people are mad, but if you watched the show, and understood Jax at all it was the perfect ending. The entire show he talks about protecting his club and his family. Now how he went about it for a long time was obviously not effective, and very violent. He wasn't a "good" guy obviously, but he was fiercely loyal to the people close to him, and he went out how he had to, to protect them. Tied up a lot, if not all of the crap the club was dealing with, and set his boys up w/ the two best people he could, as far away from "the life" as he could. Obviously there are holes in the show, but how could there not be w/ this story? I actually kinda chuckled when Jax shot Marks on the steps of the court house and walked away, would have figured some police presence in that scenario. Overall though, it came full circle, and Jax actually repeated his father's life basically. He knew it wasn't right, but had gotten in too deep to get out any other way, so he went out on his bike happy w/ where he left the important people in his life. Can't ask for much more than that. Would not have fit the story/character at all if he had run away and tried to hide.
Just my opinion, but I dug it. As you can tell, I'm sure.
