I came across this thread while unsuccessfully searching for something else. This was shortly before I joined in all the reindeer fun, but may have played a part in my hopping into the sled.

Still I wonder.

I think. I brood. I despair. I do this or that.

What the fuck? Kim Kardashian?

In "Philosophical Fragments", Kierkegaard delves deep into the paradoxes of the Tenutan Gambit. Neither logic nor reason can reconcile the 3-4 in a 4-3 base.

Pascal is helpful here. Something something heart has reasons of which reason knows nothing. Then we're wagering.

Edit: haha, and my title says I'm an apologist

Either/Or. Kim is A. Sort of.

Ahhh, now I don't understand!

I think.

Therefore I yam.

Ethics are a study in mores.

What you see is what you get.

When the going gets tough, shit flies.

At the end of the road there is only memory.

"Life is like a box of chocolates."

Make hay while the sun shines.

"Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain."

I've often pondered the difference between making hay and gathering rosebuds. One seems useful while the other seems beautiful. I don't know what to make of that.

One feeds the body, the other the soul.

Both are necessary for the health of the whole.

I'll be damned. I rhymed! No prose poetry, no Haiku. Will wonders never cease

And all this 'cause I wanted to gripe about something that ground my gears.

I.E., I couldn't figure out why a thread (that had garnered me three cherished positive positive Reps) was rendered N/A.

It was so short lived I don't even remember the name.

Thank you, I'm currently getting reps on a 5 year old post.

Since the Tenutan Gambit we've had the Brown Cover Somebody Please and the Diaco No Option Dance. Perhaps VanGorder will provide the Order that wasn't.

Since my earliest childhood a barb of sorrow has lodged in my heart. As long as it stays I am ironic if it is pulled out I shall die.

This is the funniest part of the whole thread;

On 6-22-2009, at 12:41am:

I'm trying to impress a guy at work.

*gets out pen and paper*

And...go!

Just over 24 hours later...

On 6-23-2009, at 12:52am:

Actually I've thrown out the plan where I impress him. I figure I'll let him impress ME with his knowledge about Kierkegaard, but I don't want to go into it without knowing at least the basics about the topics of Kierkegaard's theories/philosophies. Plus, this way I'll have some questions prepared that he can answer :)

To less than 2 weeks later...

On 7-3-2009 at 3:48pm:

Well, I haven't really had a chance to talk to him - the problem is that he and I have the same position at work - so days that he works, I have off, and vice versa. So we don't really overlap. And the only time we've hung together outside of work was at this big going away party for Andi (the girl who used to share the same position at me, who he is taking over for) at the bowling alley. But there were so many people there we didn't get a chance to have a one-on-one discussion.

However, I'm going to HAVE to marry him now because last night he had on a T-shirt that had a picture of the actual painters: Michaelangelo, Donatello, Raphael and Leonardo, wearing their respective TMNT eye band colors. No one else got it but me. I think we were made for each other.

....... and they wonder why we drink so much?

Get your facts straight. Kierkegaard is in the Balkans and was the jump off point for the Russo-Crimean war of Stoli Succession. Fun fact these events gave us the term Balkanization (to walk away drunk) which morphed into bunting (to wuss out whilst at bat) and Stolichnaya Premium Vodka.

I call Absolut Bullshit to each and every point!
Balkanization is the pained expression on a pitchers face when called for a balk in the 9th inning of a playoff game resulting in the loss of said game.

Bunting- the lace located on my grannies panties, yellowed from excessive exposure to cigarette smoke.

And Russo-Crimean War -Russia would never invade Crimea you moronic dolt!

One hundred posts, each and every one worse than the previous!!!

It's painfully obvious to me that you are just a Putin apologist. His only positive contribution being the invention of that French Canadian treat poutine, which as much as it pains me to admit is delicious.

In the spirit of reconciliation I think we should move on to Socrates and debate in a civilized manner his contributions to the Greek yogurt phenomenon that is sweeping the nation.

and more importantly when do I stop being a "walk-on"

When you prove you're an RKG, quick fast, technician, student of the game and post something really stupid in the politics thread.

Anytime you'd like.

Just putter around the vbPlaza. You'll find a way, at a cost, to change it there.

You can afford it.

But I'd be open to loaning you the vBucks at, say, 20% interest. Fees and late payment penalties would apply ...
