Take a look at your boys at home against a shitty IOWA team. Why is that game close? If IOWA doesnt make a gazillion mistakes u lose. Bottom line is, you can't get up for every game every week. Your going to have some games where you don't play your best. The good teams will find a way to win those type of games and that is why ND and MICH won today. I also think ND was rusty coming off of the bye week, but that still is no excuse.

20-6 qualifies as a route today, compared to the way BCS contenders ND, Texas, Cal, and Tennessee squeaked by.

You know, I don't normally bitch about the refs but these Pac10 guys today sucked big time. From the no call for holding near the end when Zibby was bearing down on the QB (right in front of the ref but somehow completely unseen) to the BS pass interference call on Lambert I think it was (near the end....how can you call PI on the defense when the goddamn receiver is holding the dback at the wrist?)....just friggin horrible. It damn near looked like they were paid off.

My ND 21, UCLA 14 prediction looks pretty sweet now, doesn't it?

hahahahaha

good call man...

People really forget that ND's "home advantage" really isn't that good... Teams LOVE to play at ND. It's where you can prove yourself...it's where teams come in super-pumped... It is NOT a Hostile environment like the Big House, the HorseShoe, or even Autzen Stadium.

ND is center stage for the home team AND the opponent.

It kinda sucks sometimes, but it's life.

UM did what it has been doing all year. Winning. And not winning in the last seconds. They did fine...and it was a more definitive wins than those you mentioned above.

I want to apologize to all Irish fans like BGIF, I gave up on the Irish today, I was totally negative today and wrote off the Irish today and chalked this game as a lost. So, I want to apologize to all you diehard Irish fans that never lost faith, like you BGIF. I was a quiter today. I'll never, ever give up on them again as long as we have a guy like CW that installs a never say die attitude into this team. Great win against a really tough and fast D, just an outstanding win against a tough all around D.

I never quit, and by that I mean I left the game on hoping to see another miracle (Bears, Monday Night) this week.

I did, however, throw my hat across the house and took all of my Blue and Golds from this season and threw them in the recycling tub (my better half has since dug them out). During commercials, I paced around the ground floor of the house ready to break things.

I never turned the game off. Remember, you can't leave until the band is done playing. Ever.

We never heard back from Bruin Bob. I wonder what his spin on the game is.

I sat in the bar where we hold gamewatches, until the end. I did turn away from the big screen though and watch the rest on a smaller tube TV hung above it so I could stew by myself :)

Right on about the band...when we go to a game we don't leave until they're through the tunnel.

Marv,

Sorry I missed your post. I didn't lose faith but it was definitely tested on that last 4th and 1. I really thought it would be a play action pass. The Bruins had 8 men not in the box but up on the line and the ends pinched at the LOS. That was the situation where Bettis killed the Gators in the Cherrios Bowl. We don't have a Bettis nor Ruddy, Taylor, Norman, Knapp, and Hall in front of him today but I thought a play action rollout would setup a Quinn run or Jeff or Rhema one on one. Quinn could have got a long way on a bootleg.

Keep the faith. We may not win them all but we will be battling.

That's awesome  I just read the posts from the game and it was like I was watching it again. I was screaming at the TV at times because the way ND was playing, then my wife thought I would have a heart attack after the shark scored :headbang: I can't wait for football season! :dogpile:

i was at that game, that final drive was amazing :)

but i have to say, other than the final drive it was one of the most boring ND games ive ever been to lol..

i hate watching Notre Dame's offense from 2005 and 2006, and then having to think about how terrible it is now..it just depressing..

i hope we get back to where we were at soon
