When I was in high school I was in band and we played across the state 3-4 nights a week. All the other guys were a few years older than I was. My hometown was Bay City and we played a place called "Peppers" and there was a strip club next door. Luckily our band had an agent to work out the details of an underage drummer playing with a band in their establishment. Some bar owners were cool to me, others not so much. I remember the strip club next door and they wouldn't let me in. I had to stay in Peppers and they watched me like a hawk.

Funny thing is I ended going to school at WMU and staying here in Kalamazoo.

Peppers in Kzoo?

If so, thats the actual site of the other 2 we are discussing. Deja Vu used to be towards downtown in what is now becoming one of the 2 most violent parts of the city. Peppers had closed down for one reason or another. The owner of Deja Vu closed his previous location down due to pressure for the church that was literally next door, and bought the old peppers club, tore it down, and built what is there now. There was no need for approval from the city as the previous business had already passed all the hurdles.

My favorite "small" city is Newport, RI. It's the perfect place to spend the weekend.

small? Chiang Mai, Thailand-fantastic

large that you would want to visit unless your crazy? Jakarta. Just-Friggin-Nutz! I went to a bird market and believe I found the next ground zero for a virus that'll wipe out the world.

I grew up in Boston, so biased that way. But also, San Francisco's awesome, and also dig Seattle, Denver, New Orleans and New York (but not tourist New York).
Smaller cities: Providence, RI is very cool. So's Portland, Maine. And while I'm not going to read through 200 posts to see if it's been mentioned, I lived a bunch of years in St. Louis, and you can have a very, very good time in that town, assuming you like beer. Cheap as hell, too.

I visited San Diego for work (US Open) several years ago. For June, the weather was a cool 70 and gorgeous. If I had to live somewhere year round it would be there or maybe Sarasota, FL.

My favorite major city would have to be Chicago though. I just wouldn't want to live there in the winter, I hate Ohio winters enough as it is.

Fuck Detroit, seriously. I went there once for Wrestlemania, what a dump! I definitely didn't feel safe going back to my car afterwards either. The whole experience was kind of crappy, but if you've been there I probably don't have to explain it.

I wasn't a big fan of New York either. I didn't get to do a lot of site seeing, but honestly it just felt noisy and people were pricks. Can't go more than 30 seconds without a car horn going off, and despite everyone driving nice cars like BMWs and Mercedes, they all seem to be dinged up

Grew up in Southern California. San Diego is incredible and LA has its merits. However, I fell in love with Nashville first time I went there. Then the wife fell in love with it and we started taking many trips there.

We are sick of the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia so we are getting out. Cashing in and retiring to Nashville. We are planning for early 2016, but we are doing our best to make it happen mid 2015.

Plus, driving distance up to South Bend from Nashville is pretty awesome. I hope NDinL.A. is ready for GO IRISH!!! to crash on his couch many football weekends!

Dude, you better get a place with an extra bedroom bc we've been looking for a reason to visit Nashville and Memphis. The kids will be old enough to either travel or leave at home w the grandparents by then, so it will be awesome.

House is always open to you bro...can't wait!
