Yes, because we all know the reason SEC schools don't travel out of the South is because everyone else is scared to play them............... that's it........
I don't remember why they bcaked out of the MSU series. I will have to check. That would have been a great matchup. The USC game should get done rather easily. But again... with everyone having needs for games it would seem getting one on the schedule would be pretty easy. But then again, when teams such as Stanford, Oregon, Okla St, tOSU run their mouths they sure go quiet when Bama comes looking.
IDK about who said what but Saban was quoted as saying the MSU series which was a home and home series "did not make business sense." So who is running from whom? Bama would have to leave the south and play at MSU at an ill-suited time of the year. Seems to me that Bama wants one game on a neutral site, and then they schedule 3 shitty teams to soften up their SEC schedule (BCS era). Now they are scrambling to find another solid opponent for next year and maybe even need two for 2016. Many teams schedules are already full with commitments. Just what I am seeing.
your my boy blue.
ND has made up ground with Bama. You never know....
In fairness they def take every FCS challenge, even make room in November for them....
Alabama Crimson Tide cancel Michigan State Spartans series - ESPN
Can only go on what I read. But yeah... Bama runs from everyone. Love you cacky but gotta disagree with you on this one.
They said the exact same thing to GT's Athletic director the year beofre:Alabama athletic director Bill Battle said Thursday the school made the request because of "the uncertainty of the conference football schedule in those years."
Update (7/29/2013)
FBSchedules.com obtained a copy of a letter from Alabama Director of Athletics Mal Moore to Georgia Tech Director of Athletics Dan Radakovich, which was dated October 15, 2012:
As we discussed and agreed, given the changing landscape of college football and the unpredictability of future conference football scheduling, it seems prudent to postpone the games between our schools to dates that are agreeable to both Georgia Tech and the University of Alabama.
LOL....
tell Kelly to give Saban a call. I am sure they can get something done.
Just giving you shit T... I honestly couldn't care much less about this one...
I can't tell if you're serious. We have schedules 100% booked through 2016. Also, when we've tried to get out of games (re: ASU) it was virtually impossible. Extricating yourself from a game contract requires a ton of effort or money if it's not mutual. Either is very prohibitive towards schedule alterations once the agreements are signed.
Frankly, this is a joke that Bama isn't filled out to 2015. Most teams do their OOC scheduling about 5 years in advance of the game (assuming home and home not neutral site). Bringing this up now with the facade of "we'll play anyone! ... as long as they come here and we maybe will go to their place later" seems like a very thinly veiled PR move so they can justify to pundits/fans adding the additional cakewalk game.
I am not worried about Bama's schedule. It is however funny to me how it all works out and now they are playing the "look we tried" card for posterity sake. My question is why does Alabama not have a team already scheduled for the slot. Were they banking on that 9th conference game and the entire SEC conspired against them or is it another excuse to throw up another national title banner once they schedule another fcs team?

FIFY
Guess they just don't want to travel to the great state of Alabama.
LOL...
iirc... the last time we were in the BCS title game we too thought we were playing an FCS opponent.
The general consensus was that the SEC would move to the ninth game. Not too hard to understand that when it didn't happen, it left Bama without a game.
And what would be the teams reason for not wanting to play Bama? There are several teams that have the opportunity to fill the game but have graciously declined. Guess they just don't want to travel to the great state of Alabama.

why you bringin up old shit???
So its a conspiracy committed by the SEC against Alabama.
Glad we understand each other now.

guess we will see where it goes from here. Still like our chances but yeah... I would rather beat up on a ND than a team like Southern Miss. Guess we will just have to wait for that one to happen sometime in the future.
Was Bama the only team in this "general consensus" or why aren't the other SEC teams also scrambling to find a 4th OOC game?
As LAX noted, the whole "we'll play anyone" is kinda BS when they're scheduling for less than 1.5 years away and the game has to be in Tuscaloosa.
And your schedule is pretty tough already in 2015, I wouldn't want ND on there in addition to LSU, Auburn, UGA, A&M, Ole Miss, Wisky. jesus lol yours is a joke this year but 2015 makes up for it. Bet you're a better team in 2015 than 2014 but finish with a worse record...
Don't hold your breath. If ND scheduled a home an home with Bama, it would get cancelled due to conference scheduling issues.
Now you're reaching cack... guess we will see our teams play down the road some day. Hopefully the Irish come a little better prepared next time.
