A Bronx Tale - great acting all around

Blown Away - Tommy Lee Jones was terrific

Scarface - gets a bad wrap. Forget about Pacino trying to be a Cuban and just enjoy everything else.

For horror films the original Let the Right One In was good.

"Hugo" was great. One of Scorsese's better films IMO.
Others: Sin City, Jacob's Ladder, Less Than Zero.

From the 2000s onward (off the top of my head):

Catch Me If You Can
Curious Case of Benjamin Button
The Descendents (people forget it even though it won a bunch of awards)
Mystic River

I always thought "Bram Stoker's Dracula" got way too much crap. I liked what Coppola did with the "Dracula" story, and, honestly, Keanu's British accent didn't bug me all that much. It was very moody and creepy and the score is great.

Foxcatcher

Granted, it hasn't come out yet, but Sony pushed its release back out of Oscar season because they thought their 2013 movies were more likely for nominations/wins. So clearly it's already underrated.

I may be a little biased because my cousin is going to be in it, what whatever.

But seriously,

She's the One
L.A. Confidential
Underworld
Charade
Broken Arrow (I know-- cheey as hell, but I like it is a mindless action flick)
A Perfect World
A Simple Plan
The Princess Bride
The Verdict
Nobody's Fool
Four Rooms
True Romance
The Muppetts Take Manhattan
Slingblade
Memento (as others have said)

I could go on....

I'd also be remiss if I didn't mention a TV show called Terriers on FX. It came out a couple years ago and only lasted one season, but was one of the greatest shows I've ever seen.

If we're going into TV shows you gotta throw in Freaks and Geeks. Ridiculous amount of people who went on to have huge careers after the show. Crazy it only lasted one season

"Get Shorty." It managed to stay true to Elmore Leonard's novel while putting a cool comic spin on the story.

Thought of another one--Unbreakable. Solid movie but people hate on it now because it's by M.Night.

Almost mentioned this one awhile back... in fact I thought The Village and Lady in the Water, while not nearly as good as Signs or Sense, were both much better than given credit for also... both were slammed by critics and movie goers.

2nd this. I thought they were both interesting movies. Give M. Night credit for doing something different.
