Actually, FOX had them going to the Gator bowl even before the season started, I think. I know that they did not have them in a BCS bowl. In the original article they even stated that they knew they were the only ones not picking ND in a BCS bowl.

Just making sure the link doesn't get anymore hits than it should. Why contribute to these dopes making a name for themselves with their crap?

And I agree with 100% of that original post the link was in. College football message boards and moron fickle writers spew a lot of junk.

Fun nonetheless, though.

Hey, I think I'm one of the few people on this site that would be pleased with a bowl such as the Gator Bowl.

I think it is premature for us to be considered a National Championship caliber team. I also think we're simply another year or two away from a talent standpoint to stack up against the Texases, Ohio States and USCs of the World. Guess what, I'm okay with that.

Whatever bowl we do make it to this year, I hope is one that we have a legit chance to win. That is going to greatly help us in recruiting, in coaching up what we have, etc. That's just my take on the situation.

Who gives a shit about the polls and bowl projections at this point in the season!!!! If we keep winning, everything will fall into place. Where were we ranked last year at the start of the season and at this point last year? The AP can kiss my dimpled ass right now. Let's just take it one game at a time.

The only "pole" I care about is the one the strippers are going to be dancing on Saturday night as I go out to celebrate another Irish victory.

Peace out for awhile my friends, this team is driving me crazy, I need to be fully charged for Saturday.

Tennessee-Irish, please, I apologize. I meant no disrespect to you

Lately, I feel like I've been trying to reel some of you guys back in rather than discussing football with you. It started with recruiting this summer and now after the first game of the year.

Block out what everyone else is saying, writing, whatever. Notre Dame, win or lose, will compete in every game and it will take a full 60 minutes to beat them....if you can. And some Saturdays, it will take Notre Dame a full 60 minutes to beat some teams. I think the next two Saturdays will comprise 120 minutes of tough football...maybe more.

Michigan State and Purdue, well, I think ND will kick their asses. I'm sorry but if you allow 35 points to Indiana State and can't manage to put Idaho away by halftime, you've got issues that more games and practice can't iron out. Either way, let's cross each bridge when we come to it. USC could have a couple of losses by November, but why worry now when it is ten games away?

PENN STATE.

As I was discussing with my father today, these games will be very emotional this season because we expect a lot and have as good of a chance to be in the hunt as we've had in a long long time. But there are 11 more of these things to go. Keep posting your opinions, but try to stay grounded and don't get too far beyond yourselves, so to speak.

You're going to end up not enjoying what good be a great and memorable season.

And the voice of reason strikes again. Nobody's going to crown ND because they wear the gold helmets. These guys are going to have to work and fight for it this year. The bullseyes on their backs are huge. They will get every team's best shot. And when that team as talent and is on the road like GT, it will be tough.

who cares? if we take care of business and win, we'll play for the championship. If we don't, then we won't. At this point in time, predictions and polls don't mean much.

Last year we went 9-3, and I was thrilled.

Nothing wrong with high expectations. Just keep in mind that it is possible to set them TOO high. If we finish 12-1 with a BCS bowl victory and you feel emotionally crushed because it's not 13-0, you're setting your expectations too high.

Just enjoy it. It's only a game, and this team is going to be FUN to watch this season, win or lose.

Of course, winning IS more fun... ;)
