I just got my Sporting News college football preview issue in the mail. There is a quote attributed to an opposing coach who isn't a member of the CW fan club (not that CW cares).

The quote:
"Charlie Weis is arrogant as hell. I couldn't even talk to him before the game. I tried to. It was a one-sided conversation. I asked him about six different questions and got little to no answer. They don't have a great team. They have a great quarterback. If Tyrone Willingham had been their coach last year, they would have won eight games. "

My money is Coach Sparty, who will probably be collecting unemployment checks in December.

That's nice. By the way, Charlie won nine.

Actually, I heard rumor it's Tiller. But my source could be completely wrong.

I think Tiller makes sense. He's pretty full of himself and was talking smack before the game.

Tiller is an idiot....I really wish he would leave Purdue so that we wouldn't have to see his mug and excuses on TV.

It was Tiller. The folks at NDN figured it out and he repeated that mantra at some Purdue alumni event.

I, for one, hope Tiller stays at Perdoo a for a long time. Last year was quite a bit of fun. I look forward to the sequel.

Tiller should stick to advertising for Quaker Oats and that stupid life insurance and keep his mouth shut. (Aka Wilford Brimley).

this is old news dredged up from a year ago to stir the pot right be before the 2006 season gets underway.

it's shoddy journalism, and emblematic of the quasi-ethics that you find in sports media. the reporter stands on his hypocritical pedastal, pontificating about the need to protect his sources, etc., while the coach in question doesn't have the balls to associate his name with his provocative comments.

its been rehashed so many times i don't even remember the original article it was taken from.

I don't care who it REALLY was... in my mind that quote goes right on the forehead of Mr. arrogant himself... Pete Carroll
