Well, what did you guys think of the most recent show?

Well they surprised me for the first time in a long time. Didn't suspect Carol before the episode. I actually like where this is going...especially the group in the woods. Love all 4 characters.

Well, what did you guys think of the most recent show?

Some spoilers, for anyone that hasn't seen last night's episode:

I like the fact that Daryl and the 3 others are a bit stranded right now. It should lead to some intense walker situations as they either try to still go in to get the medicine and/or return to the prison. It could lead to that huge hoard of walkers following them back to the prison, which would be crazy.
As far as the sickness, it's probably a blessing in disguise. I'm not sure how many people it'll wipe out, but it culls the numbers a bit and brings that uncertainty that anyone could kick the bucket. I don't see Hershel or Glen kicking the bucket from this, I think they'll be saved. I think Sasha will die.
I'm a little surprised that Carol was the one to burn the bodies. Maybe it wasn't her though...maybe it was that little girl that's a little crazy and Carol was covering for her. What if she was Carol's protege? I know she went in with the quarantined at the end of the episode, but what if it was to kill some of them? I'm guessing the little girl was the one that was feeding rats to the walkers. I just can't shake this suspicion that theres something funny about that little girl.

I agree. It's added a real sense of walker danger that hasn't been around in a bit. Well, other than maybe the internal disease thing going around. I think either Tyreese or the black Army medic (Don't remember his name) don't make it back from the trip.

Skinny black guy will almost certainly die. I think Tyrese is going to be here for the long haul. On that note, what major characters will die this season?

I'm thinking: Herschel, Carol, and either Carl or Beth.

Other than Rick, I think Glenn and Daryl are the only people who are definitely safe.

I'm with you on this. Hershel could kick the bucket, but they would probably need a new "Wise man" type figure to fill his role. Dale had it before him for 2 seasons. Hershel will have had it for 2 seasons roughly. I don't think Carl is going anywhere yet, Beth might go. She doesn't really have any kind of role, other than taking care of Judith. Carol is certainly becoming interesting.

As far as safe cast members, Maggie is probably safe too. She's about the closest thing to a sex symbol on the show right now. Rick, Daryl, Glen should all be safe as mentioned. I could see Michone maybe dying in an encounter with the Governor.

I forgot about Michonne. I think she is safe indefinitely, too. As far as sex symbols go, the show has had no hesitation killing every single hot girl off. It actually really perplexes me. Lori, Andrea, Tyrese's love interest from this season, etc. So I think Maggie is at a low risk.

Part of me thinks the sickness will coincide with the baby, *** Kicker. Like she will be immune to the sickness and will lead perhaps more people to procreate. Or somehow she's immune from turning into a walker since she was conceived and born after it began, and that will lead people to procreate.

I also got to thinking about this show last night, kind of in terms of The Wire. Season one here was sort of about the struggle with the walkers themselves, season 2 about the struggle with humanity within the group, season 3 about the struggle with humanity outside the group. Season 4? The struggle with outside forces of humanity (disease, contamination)?

I don't know. Maybe I've spent too much time thinking about this show!

The Governor is out of sight, out of mind for the moment though. I'm guessing he'll make a short appearance at some point this season. He won't have the power he had before, but he'll still be able to mess with the prison survivors I'm sure. What better way to get people hating him all over again than to cut Michonne down? I think Rick will end up putting the Governor down.

You could be right about Maggie. If Hershel is going to die this season, I don't see them killing Maggie too. But, if Hershel lives, maybe Maggie and/of Beth die. Glen is tied to that family now, and if he's going to survive I could see at least one or two of the family trio of Hershel, Beth, or Maggie kicking the bucket to add conflict in that unit.

I think he has at least a few episodes. He is the new token black dude. There's a pattern here...

Skinny black guy is going to get sacrificed I think so Daryl, Michonne, and Tyresse can make it back to the prison. We barely know anything about the guy, and he served in the Army right? Perfect target to take one for the team.

Tyresse may last longer than I was thinking, maybe till the end of the season. At the very least he'll hang around until they find the next token black guy.

When they ran into that monster horde of walkers I was like yoinks! I just don't know who is going to live or die. When they started diverting from the comics I just tossed my hands up.

Well, what did you guys think?

**SPOILER**

Glad to see Carolyn go and wouldn't be surprised to see the group who left for meds "forget" about the skinny black guy, sorry still don't remember his name lol

I'm glad Carol is gone-- her Billy Bada$$ routine this year was wearing thin. If I were a betting man, I'd wager the house she'll return though. Kinda strange to just "off" a stalwart character like that, especially considering she wasn't even "offed" to begin with.

I was kinda hoping that random chick made it back to the prison with Rick and Carol. :hitit:

I don't foresee them leaving D'Angelo Barksdale on the side of the road. I could see him dying or getting killed later on though. Just seems like too much of a potential story there-- boozehound and war vet. They've even made his drinking sort of a secondary storyline.

I gotta say-- I like this season.

I hated Carol's character for the first 2 1/2 seasons. There wasn't really anything to like there imo. This season and maybe part of last season she actually started to get interesting, and now she's gone. I agree though, I'm sure we'll see her back in some capacity later.

Bob is a dead man, if not sooner, then later. The drink was just the beginning of his downfall.

Brina Palencia? I didn't think she was all that hot. She's apparently had a bunch of roles in Anime, some video games, done English voice overs, and some musical/voice direction. Not really a lot of Movie/TV roles. Oh, and she did the voice for Mad Moxxi in Borderlands 1 and 2 :awesomewo

No, she's not super hot or anything....but she's definitely hotter than Carol...or Herschel.

This show certainly isn't heavy on the eye candy. Maggie is about as close as it gets, and theres nobody after that.

Nope, no way in hell Carol is gone for good. Not with those snotty kids still there and her weird sexual tension with Daryl. What's going to happen when Daryl finds out that Rick left her? Or will he?

This season is pretty awesome so far.

I was kind of bummed when they killed off the crazy chick in the woods. I thought she was really creepy and her accent and mannerisms really played that up well. I think having that presence in the woods could have been a cool angle.

Otherwise, I am not as excited about this season as I was for past seasons. Carl needs to die. Rick needs to go back to being bat **** crazy. I am tired of seeing who is getting together. Apparently the zombie apocolypse is a great place to get laid.

And two more words: MORE MICHONNE!

Boy is this still true!

Let's see they brought on an interesting couple, and killed them off!

Carl has been downplayed; Michonne has been more featured and is growing as a character!

Well, at least you got the bat shiit crazy part with Rick, because there was no writing to justify banishing Carolyn for that. I just don't think that was his character, Rick would have tried to make it work.

The only appeal I can see is that added violence. I can't see one area that the show has improves, especially with the eye candy as some of you point out.

Okay, here is a good question I have been pondering:

Why is Rick suddenly wearing his pistol as a cross-draw setup on his left hip? He used to always wear it on his right. The guy at the house even asked him if he was a righty or lefty and pointed at his gun. Rick never answered him.

I started thinking if there was significance to that and remembered the Governor wore a cross-draw setup on his left hip. It used to bug me because I don't like cross-draws like that.

Is Rick starting to emulate the Governor a bit? Is there even any significance to it? They really made a point of it and the camera focused on his left hip several times. I dunno...I could be making more of it than there is.

That is a good point, unless they are trying to say it is because of his bandaged right hand, which really doesn't make sense.

Maybe cause his right hand is messed up? I thought it was weird that the very first scene was him wrapping his hand.

That crossed my mind, but it was still set up so he had to draw with his right. Wouldn't be able to draw the gun with his left in that set up. Or at least it would be really awkward.

Maybe you are both right. They just made a rather big point of calling attention to it.

Works if we are both right. Layers, shows got layers, like onions.

I questioned that at first too. He is a righty and used to carry it on his right side. I want to say I saw him pull it out with his left hand after he swapped it over to the left side. They are playing his right hand as hurt. It is reversed for more of a cross draw approach because it is a right handed holster being worn on the left side thus flipping the way the gun points from butt of the gun backwards to butt of the gun forwards.
