I'm currently using Crunchbang Linux. I was very much into Ubuntu a few years ago. I decided to try Crunchbang. It takes up a lot less resources that any other OS does. I'm really loving the minimalism and the ability to do whatever i want with it.

The desktop "widgets" are called Conkys. You can customize them to show and do pretty much anything you want.

Linux is probably the safest OS out there. They update the thing constantly.

My advice is to do a little research and see what works best for you.

Plain old Alienware alien. Nothing to special. Now the led's are a different story I made them look like skittles.
