Computer Teddy Bridgewater choked against UC. Multiple throw-aways due to pressure on 3rd downs and a terrible INT were all I needed to run the damn ball and come away victorious. They had no answer for Ralph David Abernathy IV, Tion Green, or even my slow-*** QB Brendan Kay on the read-option.

I knew you were going to shred him with the run. I ended up playing the CPU against Louis-v and I DESTROYED him with read option. The game didn't record the result, so I simmed 3 quarters and read-optioned the fourth to secure the win... had it kept my actual game... it was like 500 yards of offense... 400 on the ground.

With your play style.. I knew they had zero chance.

I was actually concerned in the first half that I was facing a NFW game. I couldn't stop Bridgewater on their first drive at all, and had my first two drives end in ridiculous fumbles.

However, CPU Teddy decided to get happy-feet in 3rd down situations and I was able to take a 21-7 lead in the third. I got the ball back and turned on "chew clock" before the NFW could come back.

I debated on turning off "chew clock" once I really got the run working late in the game to see if I could set some UC rushing records, but I decided to take the 28-14 win after a late UofL TD.

****, most of the season my offense was centered around read option and triple option too. I actually played with my #2 QB because he was more mobile than my first. I couldn't run for crap against CPU Louisville though, they kept loading the box up and stuffing me. Not to mention the fact that even in Dime/Quarter/3-3-5 packages I couldn't stop their passing one bit. Didn't matter if I dropped 8, predicted pass, or rushed 6-7, Bridgewater would hit an open guy. Game got ugly once I was forced to try and pass to catch up, the 2nd string guy doesn't pass well. I ended up switching to my pocket passer for my last game against Temple and I actually had a decent throwing game (In comparison to the #2 guy).

You could add Tulane/Tulsa/ECU to mirror some of the real-world changes that will happen for 2014 and then we'd have one.

But would we have our guys playing as Rutgers and Louisville stay in, or send them to their new conferences?

PS: You may have just given me a new avi lol

I like having true to life conferences. I moved Navy and everyone else as needed for the 2014 upcomming season in my personal dynasty. I guess it's up to everyone else though. I wouldn't mind seeing a couple less players in the AAC though. It would give us a better chance to build the conference up possibly instead of poaching each other (Lot of us are 6-6 teams right now in the conference, much like real life lol).

Hey man, I saw you on at 9:05pm and sent a message, but I haven't seen a response and you just went offline about 10 minutes ago. My PSN is the same as on here: Ulukinatme. I should be in your friend's list. I'll stay on football for a bit here, but by 10pm I might switch to GTA Online if I don't see you on. If I switch, just send me a message and I'll pop off to play the game.

If FAU beats me out for the recruit I've had #1 on my board the entire season I'm gonna be a bit pissed. He's the #3 Athlete in the country...to FAU? Bull****.

Stanford iced my tie attempting field goal and I wound up hitting the cross bar for a tough loss. I was extremely over matched against a physical Stanford team.

On the bright side, my TE finished 2nd in the country in reception yards and won the Mackey Award. I also managed to pull down Coach of the Year honors, so that was nice. Hope it helps my recruiting next season...

I had to chew clock all game to beat Johnny Football in the Fiesta Bowl in a back-and-forth battle. I think A&M had four possessions the entire game and scored on three of them lol.

I started a drive in the third quarter that killed all but the final 46 seconds of the game. I was worried I scored too soon and would have OT on my hands, but the computer is terrible at running the hurry-up with no timeouts. Squeaked out a 28-21 win.

Now I have to gamble on how to distribute my recruiting points on the six recruits left on my board.

Rutgers defeats Duke 27-10 in the BBVA Compass Bowl!

It was a rainsoaked mudfest with sloppy QB play by both teams. My QB Gary Nova got knocked out of the game due to an injury. His stats were rough to say the least going 6/17 146 yards and 2 TDs. RB Savon Huggins continued to be the playmaker going 119 yards, 1 TD on 23 attempts.

Not a offensive masterpiece but a slugfest. The only turnovers were from DUKE.

Rutgers finish 8-5 and await next season.

UCONN beat Maryland on a last second field goal in the Independence Bowl. It was a rematch from earlier in the season (I lost the first one).

I think everyone is set already.

Congratulations to all the bowl and award winners! Let's push this baby into the offseason so we can get movin' on to Year Two! I fully support the idea of adding another team and making a conference championship game. Even more user vs. user fun...

I suggest if we do that we set it up in an NFL stadium and try to make it one that is somewhat in the middle of a lot of our recruiting grounds. Also, one that doesn't currently host a conference title game. My suggestions are (and I don't know if some of these would be in the game), have to look:

Reliant Stadium, Houston
Superdome Stadium, New Orleans
Raymond-James Stadium, Tampa Bay
Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte
Met-Life Stadium, New Jersey / New York

Thoughts?

I vote for MetLife Stadium. Probably won't ever play on the championship but it's worth shooting for!

Jerryworld would be cool, but wouldn't really fit with the AAC region  Met-Life Stadium would probably work.

Alright, I've advanced past the end of season and for this year I forced continued contracts with our respective programs. I will not do this next season. You'll be free to stay and try to win the American or go elsewhere, but in the interests and spirit of our fantastic league play, as well expediency in getting next season started, we're now advanced to players leaving.

Wine and dine and set yourself to green for go.

Cheers!

Andy

P.S. I'll see if I can add a Championship game and pick the venue. Just not at that part of the off season process quite yet.

EDIT: Check your Coaches Tree. I had the number one defense in the country last season and I lost my DC for it. Got a lvl 1 **** face. GG Game; G ****ing G.

Also there is no ready setting on this phase, so we'll push it at midnight Sunday. Same bat time, same bat channel. So take care of your teams.

I'd be interested to hear if any of you guys luck out on coordinator changes.

In my two offline dynasties, I turned in good seasons with crappy teams so my offensive and defensive coordinators all got hired to head coaching jobs.

In one dynasty, I got Lane Kiffin as my new o-coordinator. Since he was previously a head coach, I was able to completely max out his skill tree from the start, which means huge boosts for the whole offense. In my other one, I got Mike Leach after Washington State canned him. Same deal, maxed out immediately due to his coaching level.

I haven't had a chance to log on, so no idea if I got lucky in this one or not.

Update: I logged on to the dynasty website and looked at the changes. Louisville lucked out, grabbing Bill O'Brian as OC. I'm in the same boat as Andy with a "previously unemployed" DC. Defense will have to be a focus during fall camp in Cincinnati!

That's very interesting...I didn't know the CPU recycled coaches. Very cool for realism sake.

Yeah, it trickles down to some extent.
Head Coaches that get fired typically get rehired as OC's or DC's at mid level or worse programs.
OC's and DC's that do well anywhere can end up as HC's at mid or lower level programs, or OC/DC at higher level places after good seasons.
Good HC's at mid level programs can make the jump to the big boys.
Coaches that retire are removed from circulation. Their spots are filled with the above mentioned OC's/DC's, or at the very bottom programs if all other coaches have been hired, then sometimes a random coach is created and fills the role.

Advanced to off-season recruiting! I skipped through transfer requests since the default behavior is to allow the transfer. So check your rosters to see if you have any new additions. I had two (you can always cut them later).

Any word on the championship game? Going to add one? And if so, where? By the way, the ONE recruit I really needed I put all 10,000 points on. Ha! Take THAT FAU.
