ARE YOU DRUNK?!?! GO BACK AND READ THE F'N THREAD!!! IM THE ONE BEING "ATTACKED" YOU SHMOE!

I'm done with this. You all are right, I'm wrong, and I certainly won't bring a differing viewpoint to the table ever again without conferring with big brother first. Holy hell.

I don't drink. I read the last few pages. Seemed evident to me that you played the victim card as you couldn't handle the opposing opinions to yours. This is a board formed with many member with many different opinions. I don't think anybody cares if they are right and you are wrong. But the 'conferring with big brother first' comment is bullshit. Those are the type comments you've repeatedly posted in your posts.

Hi Irish Insanity!

I guess the fishin's good today! Ha! Ha! (said with good intent not sarcasm).

I just wanted to say I thought you were a stand up guy on Live Chat during the MSU game. I have a knack for pi**ing the pollys off sometimes and they can get real nasty with the one who says the emperor's nekkid.

Anyway, I look forward to future exchanges.

OBTW, I know Kelly knows a lot more about football generally, and his ND team particularly, than any fan who posts to ND chatrooms. I also don't think he's crazy. Therefore, with one exception set out below, I think he coaches to win even when his perceived past to victory is an ugly one. I also think he is quite hampered by Tommy (God bless him; if every one of our players did as much with his talent as Tommy does we'd win the national championship every year).

The one thing that comes closest to shaking my faith in BK is his refusal so far to give Hendrix any meaningful play time. He said in pre-season press events he'd be working Hendrix into the offense. However, we suck in the red zone and he still doesn't use Hendrix. I guess I have to trust his judgment but the Hendrix situation is the one that most causes me second doubts.

Re-read the thread again as you asked. I still feel the same. Don't bitch about the substance of this board lately then add to it in the same manor.

I think one of the early on comments in the Chat made me say WTF, then after that it was all playful jawing. These games have been stressful to watch, that seems to be how I cope. Lol.

I absolutely feel Rees is the guy for the job. However, I will say I've questioned BK myself. But I've gotten to the point where its hard not to have faith in what he's shown over his career, as opposed to this season being thrown into an odd QB situation. I read in another post (hell it may have been this one, sorry for whoever I'm not giving credit too) thoughts about how its looks as if Kelly has decided to force Rees to rise to the occasion and take the team with him, as opposed to tayloring the offense to him (not sure I got that right). And I sat and thought about it, and agree. As far as Hendrix, I woulda understood if he was the guy from day one. Hell even if Rees had an iffy week or two, him being the guy after the bye allowing him more time to be ready for it. He just never looks comfy out there. Always looks way to jittery and nervous.

As far as fishing, honestly its not normally like that for me. Just got annoyed with it today.

EDIT: Found the post. It was Patulski

Here's what I find interesting:

Kelly has had three years with Rees' limitations and he still is not going to change how he wants to call his offense, particularly in the first half, that he uses with immobile QB's. The offense he is running is very similar to what he ran with Tony Pike at Cincinnatii.

Knowing Rees' history, many coaches, and fans, would have designed a run heavy offense with a short passing game and play action to minimize Rees' role in the offense. Not Kelly. He is running a wide open, pass to open up the run offense. You load up the box, he's going to grip it and rip it.

It doesn't matter if the fans think Rees is limited and cannot carry the load, Kelly is challenging Rees to be better and not backing down one bit. Some people would characterize it as stubbornness, others as a coach that is successful precisely because he challenges his players to overcome their limitations.

I suspect it simply is not in Kelly's DNA to build an offense around anybody's limitations. His entire mantra is to get better, and he is still expecting Rees to get better. Whether the season is great or average will ride on Rees. But Kelly is not flinching and if Rees does rise to the challenge, we could win out. If he doesn't, we could lose 3-4 games. It is going to be an interesting ride.

Lol so after reading through it you still think I was the aggressor huh?! Hilarious, and hardly unexpected. Whatever though, I'm walking off the school yard.

Lambasted? You give yourself and your little circle jerk way too much credit. While I appreciate the spirited debate, the fact is your conjecture and stance on the matter can't be proven anymore than my own. Only time will tell and the truth will reveal itself. You guys like Kelly, I have my doubts. We'll see what happens as this season plays out.

Right.

Because when you're arguing (debating) with over 3 different people, it's OBVIOUSLY them and not you

Do you even vocab bro?

Lambaste = to criticize/scold harshly. And you're rejecting that premise?! Jessssus Christ. Are you eleven?

Two horrible flaws in logic.

1) To criticize (i.e. lambaste) doesn't mean we're correct, so your first sentence is entirely moot.

2) The results of 2013 will have little weight in a proper man's opinion of Brian Kelly. I don't judge Jim Tressel by 2004. I don't judge Bob Stoops by 2005. I don't judge Les Miles by 2008. I don't judge Urban Meyer by 2007. The list goes on...

Why, is that the IE barometer on who "wins" a debate and who doesn't? Thanks for letting me in on the "rules." Lol.

No, certainly not.

But you don't do yourself any favors when you cry and use the victim card (e.g. "you only hate me because I don't like Kelly!" to guys like Whiskey or Lax who have clearly been critical of this season. The difference is that they use logic (Lax is more pessimistic than Whiskey in my opinion) and you whine. Then you whine. Then you whine some more.

Well here's my bit: I think Notre Dame could very well lose this Saturday to an absurd score of like 52-21. And I think they could be 3-4 in three weeks. So stop with the victim card. This team isn't very solid; we get it.

No, it's just a common sense trait.

Example: if you think the majority of people you talk to are idiots/annoying, then it's probably not them , it's you

Get over yourself their bro! Your opinion of yourself is clearly epic in your own mind. You throw fits like a little bitch routinely when challenged on a topic. Go get yourself a pamprin and settle the f down. You think you are the only college boy with a degree here? I understand what lambasted means and the arguments you and your circle jerk provided were only a "lambasting" in your overinflated opinion of yourself.

The fact remains that just because you criticize my viewpoint does not make it wrong. So however you want to go about patting yourself on the back, more power to you there champ.

I actually don't have a degree, for the record. I also had to Google what a pamprin was. Learn something every day.

Moving on...my point was that even those two of the legendary posters in this site thoroughly ripped you to shreds (Whiskey doing an extra fine job with the ol' logic), you completely rejected that they even criticized you and accused us of a circlejerk? What? Huh?

And here I thought I was maybe a little too harsh when I ripped you on your whole "switch to the 4-3!" tirade. Nope. You're a looney.

In the interest of transparent moderation...

In the interest of transparent moderation...

Domer4Ever was at least marginally civil when he was arguing with just me earlier today, but since then, he's: (1) put down our community generally; (2) personally attacked individual members; and (3) used gratuitously vulgar language.

He's got 3 months off. If he can learn some civility in the interim, he's welcome to return after the regular season. Apologies to those who were enjoying the back and forth.

Please say yes.

I always thought of Whiskey as looking like this while he was modding at home.

Who gives a ****!? A vast majority of that winning percentage was accomplished Division II Grand Valley State for god's sake! Right now, he isn't much better than Weis at the same point in their ND coaching careers despite Kelly having superior talent and facilities. Do you deny this team is playing sloppy football, playing down to the level of their opponents, and could just as easily have lost games against Purdue and Michigan State if not for a play here or there and despite the large margin in roster talent? Am I happy they won? Absolutely! But I'm not some homer like yourself that refuses to acknowledge this teams issues from the coaching staff on down and understands the fact that the good fortune they have enjoyed is eventually going to run its course leaving a sloppy football team in its wake.

Keep on keeping on though.

I know the poster got banned, but still wanted to challenge the bolded part, which is a drastic misstatement:

After both had coached 43 games at ND
Record
-Kelly was 31-12 (72% winning %); Weis was 26-17 (60%). Pretty significant difference
-both had 1 loss to a team that ended the season with a losing record. A push (although we know for Weis there were two more which followed in his next 8 games)
