Sorry folks but Diaco is just not the man.
I want you to think about it. Last year he had two early round draft picks on Defense and two potential first round draft picks on the D line. That is more than any other team short of a LSU or AL has. Nearly every single game was down to the wire. Oklahoma beat itself. Michigan beat itself. There were a ton of really bad teams on ND schedule last year and ND made them look like players. Then they would go out and lose big time to other teams. Stanford we barely beat because of a first year QB and that their strength (run) was our defenses strength.
Say what you want but how does Michigan, without even a full healthy team and three first year players on the Oline, handle ND the entire game long? You do realize that the Center and both guards started their first game last week right? They lost their starting WR and DB and second string RB and yet kicked ND all night long. Our defense was pathetic, plain and simple. That blame has to go to one man, the one who is responsible for developing them...Diaco.
Good programs do not barely win most their games, especially the mid to low tier teams like Purdue and Pitt. Can you possibly imagine what either of those teams would do against an LSU, AL, GA. or Clemson? Do you realize what those four teams would do to ND and Michigan? We are talking 3+ touchdown victories. It would be humiliating just like last years NC game was.
This coaching staff has had what, four years of GREAT recruiting and still are incapable of playing with the big boys. And wont be.
Face it boys, Kelly and Diaco were good for D2 and a soft team like Cincinnati but look at the proof any time one of their teams plays a big boy...that's right...they get their nose wiped.
Flame away.
